Alternatives to Spice Gold
SWIM decided to try some legal smoking blends for the first time. He used Spice Gold and found it to be enjoyable but has a couple of problems with it:
1. By far the biggest problem: mucus production. SWIM smoked 4 joints over the course of 2 days and woke up on the 3rd day with his mouth absolutely coated in flem. SWIM has never had such a large amount, even on acid. It was disgusting and he was coughing/sneezing for the entire day. For this reason SWIM has decided to stop using SG. 2. SWIM found SG to be similar to cannabis indica in that it produces a body high and couch lock. SWIM generally prefers a more sativa-like experience, with more of a head high and less tiredness. Can any SWIY reccomend another smoking blend that does not have the mucus issue and is more sativa like? Note the mucus is the more important issue. Any suggestion needs to be availible in the UK. Cheers! |

Re: Alternatives to Spice Gold
SWIM finds other ranges to be very different to the spice range, so if you want a replacement for spice gold he reccomends you try others in the range. Spice Gold is without a doubt the worst blend on the market for inducing tiredness; SWIM was once planning to stay up late smoking it with friends, but then everyone went to bed at 10PM because they were so tired. SWIM thinks that none of the other blends you will try will give you the same tiredness problem as Spice Gold, when he used to use it he often lay in bed for 5 hours in the middle of the day.
Spice Silver is a mild dreamy high, that gives no hangover, and is the easiest on the brain. Diamond is much stronger than Gold, more trippy and uplifting; definitely more of a head high. Genie is a cross between Gold and diamond, but leans more toward diamond and doesn't really induce tiredness. This has more body tingles than the other others listed so far. As for the mucus, SWIM doesn't really know as he doesn't experience it (though he doesn't smoke that often). If the mucus is because of how rough the actual herbs are to smoke, then all of the Spice range is made of pretty much the same stuff (including genie, but this also has lots of added crap that looks like dried garden waste, e.g. twigs), so youy may have to try the other ranges. SWIM doesn't rate the highs from these so highly, but many people do so they are definitely worth trying. They are less strong highs, more generally relaxing, and have much more pleasant body euphoria. SWIM can't remember the consistency of everything he had tried, but quite a few are light and fluffy (smoke), and aroma is very finely ground up and strong enough that you only need a very small anount so it should blend well into anything you want to mix it with (this makes it very good value). If it is the smoke that causes the mucus, SWIM suggests that you see if using a bong helps, and if that fails eating it is a method that works in the same way as with marijuana - it gives a longer lasting, more intense high that takes a while to kick in. |

Re: Alternatives to Spice Gold
Yes, from what Alf experienced with his first 3g bag of Spice Gold, the smoke is heavy and it feels as if it was depositing some heavy combustion products in respiratory tract (nasal mainly, gives a cotton-mouth feel too). Compared to cannabis smoke it is definitely low quality, not a pleasant one. A bong is really a way to go with burning it. Spice is very dry and burns like hay, Alf can't really imagine any prolonged smoking of it in joints or non-water pipes, so harsh is the smoke. Alf stopped nicotine 91 days ago and is missing neither heavy loads on his lungs, nor smoke that is resembling a tobbaco smoke. Are there any blends that are moisturized maybe? Or are they all and always that dry?

Re: Alternatives to Spice Gold
Swim hasnt had mucus problems with any legal smoking mixture. Probably cause swim uses a bong.
As for the tiredness thing, swim has recently tried a product by the name of 'neder gold'. Swim smoked quite a bit of this this with a bong at about 3 or 4am and was very high, but still managed to stay up all night high and go to college at 9am the next morning, still high and not too tired. Effects only wore off at about 11am and he had a bit of an energetic after glow for the rest of day. |
