Effects - nothing from lorazepam

SWIM heard the benzodiazepine, lorazepam, was exremely powerful. however, after taking one full 5 milligram pill, SWIM didn't really feel much, other than some sedation. SWIM has no benzo tolerance, and takes benzos rarely; hasn't had any since 10mg diazepam about six months ago. what gives?

It really depends on what your monkey is looking for effects wise from benzodiazepines. Some people do find them euphoric, but in the flamingo's experience, these are people who have anxiety (perhaps unrecognised) and for whom the feeling of being anxiety free is blissful.

The benzodiazepines also vary widely in subjective experience. Drugs with a faster onset and shorter half-life are more likely to be perceived as "likeable"

Personally the flamingo always found Lorazepam to be a fairly worthless benzodiazepine: Oversedation and significant hangover the next day

my dog enjoys benzos. the relaxation alone and escape from anxiety is what my dog enjoys most.

just chillin in bed on benzos watching some tv while slowly drifting to sleep is nice for my dog. Its also nice going out on a nice sunny day all relaxed and maybe a few drinks on benzos.

they are nothing extreme, but exactly what a chill pill is meant to do...chill you out.

my dog is very anxious and is an insomniac, so It does all depend on each person.

my dog enjoys mixing them with lots of things too, but my dog says not to mix with anything unless you are very comfortable with the mixed subtance.

Is swiy sure that what they took was a 5 mg pill? From everything swim has read, Lorazepam is only available in 2, 1, and 0.5 mg doses, but he could be wrong of course. Maybe swiy didn't feel anything at all because they actually took half a milligram?

I was going to say the same thing as above poster. Swim told me that they come in 2.5 too, they are tavor brand. But chances are that swiy took one of the greeny-bluish 0.5mg ones. Swim was prescribed these and had to go back to the doctor after taking the first one due to little to no relief. However swim made a mistake and told his doctor that he "didn't even feel it" therefore the doctor prescribed the 2.0mg ativans(lorazepam) which is the only drug swim has ever experianced that literaly knocked him out. It was cool

Lorazepam doesn't come in 5mg doses, that would be an absurdly high dose as the recommended dose for the day is 10mg max, split over 3 (4 prn). In other words you would take the recommended dosage in two ingestions. The first one alone would make your brain completely fuzz and you probably wouldn't know what to do with yourself before you passed out completely.

If you take 5mg of lorazepam, you will feel it no matter what your body chemistry is like (barring any supreme benzo tolerance). It won't kill you but you'll just fall asleep for 10 hours.

.5 1mg and 2mg are the only ones available. Unless someone goes into a seizure and is injected by EMS . via a trip in the Ambulance.

SWIM does not feel much from ativan either. Unless with higher dosages. SWIM has a large tolerance to benzos for some reason though.

SWIM suggests trying to get a better anxiety agent to help him/her out.

I think the OP took one 0.5mg pill. This is roughly equivalent to 5mg diazepam and is a pretty small dose. If I'm correct in this assumption then there is nothing particularly unusual about not getting any effects from this dose, other than sedation. If the OP did take 5mg lorazepam (unlikely as I doubt 5mg pills even exist) then he should have got a lot of sedation! But what exactly was he expecting other than sedation? Benzos are not the "fizz and sparkle" of the pharmacological world.

In dumber days, SWIM would mix copious amounts of booze and benzos (let's just drop a rough estimate and say that things got going when he hit about 5mg of clonazepam and 6-8 shots of jager) and everything he said and did felt like it was a dream. It was very cool, but after breaking the habit, very, VERY disturbing as he realized that he had nearly torn his life to pieces without stopping to care for one minute.
