APAP intake

Swim has began to build up a tolerance to codeine, after regularly taking 30/500 Solpadol tablets for about a month.

He used to take two tablets every now and again for a bit of a pick me up before going out drinking, but stopped this when he came on DF and found out about alcohol being a no-no combo. He then carried on taking two tablets more regularly, but avoiding the alcohol.

More recently began to take three tablets every time which is 90mg codeine and 1500mg apap. A tolerance has now built to this and swim doesnt really get much of a buzz out of it for more than an hour.

CWE has been tried but JESUS, it tasted awful and swim couldnt finish the whole dose and was pissed off about the waste of precious tabs!

Swim only usually doses once or twice a day and has never had an intake of more than 9 tablets in 24hrs.

Is it safe to be taking 3 tablets at a time, or even push it to 4? Or should he opt for sorting out this CWE business?

Re: APAP intake

Swiy shouldn't take more then 2 at once.. Don't think that 3 will kill you, but in the long run it might do some damage !!

Do a CWE or try and get something without paracetamol (dihydrocodeine 30mg) would be good..

Re: APAP intake

Well,3 tablets I think could be well tolerated if it's not combined with alcohol but 4 is really pushing it.I mean it won't kill you for sure but it could do some damage to your liver.Just do a CWE with some more tabs and try to swallow the solution as best as you can.Yeah, swim knows it's completely disgusting but that's the only way to go if you wanna take more tabs, without damaging your liver that is.

Swim drinks the solution straight but has heard of people mixing it with Grapefruit juice (because to cover the taste of something bitter you need something else that's bitter).

Re: APAP intake

My butler has been taking 4 or 6 Percs (10mg oxycodone & 375mg APA) daily for about 4 years. He is very concerned about the effect of APA on his liver and has been taking regular blood tests. So far they are negative but he intends to ask his doctor for oxycontin to avoid any dangerous APA effects. I don't presume to give you advice but my butler is very concerned about his APA intake. From what I read APA can damage your liver if eaten in large, frequent quantities.

While swim agrees that OVER-doing the APAP is not healthy and that everybody is different, the "standard" seems to be that it is safe to consume up to 4000mg. of APAP in a 24hr. period of time.

If swiy is taking 6-10/325's a day, that is 1950mg. and WELL below the "standard" maximum daily dose. Swiy should be fine as long as swiy has a "healthy" Liver to start with and there is NO daily Alcohol consumption.

Swim hopes this info. eases swiy's mind a little.
