After H,can swimmers feel their prescribed meds?

SWIM is on OPANA ER/oxymorphone 2 x 20 mgs. a day and 2x 5 mgs. of IR a day(plus whatever else swim can score usually 6-8 percs) and have been doing heroin for the past 4 months (daily for most of that time,but have not in the past 2 days) Swim notices that her meds do not seem to give her any feeling at all anymore,is this normal? What should swim do?

This is a recovery forum so my friend would say this is the wrong place to ask that question.When swim is ready to stop all the opiate use,come back and swim will recieve all the help that can be provided.

swim has found that heroin use significantly decreased her sensitivity to most opiates, with the exceptions to hydromorphone and oxycodone, but she had to take quite a bit intravenously (thsi was also her method of use with heroin). so swim sees two issues here:

1. increasing tolerance due to higher dosages and use of more potent substances

2. IF swiy is using intravenously then it changes the entire dynamic. it is hands-down, in her opinion, the most addictive method of use with opiates.

so in short, yes this sounds normal.

So do you think if swim lays off the H for a bit that maybe swim will feel the OPANA ER and IR/oxymorphone in her system?SWIM keeps hearing how good the oxymorphone is supposed to be and was hoping to use it instead of her having to beg,borrow and steal to get H.

in swim's experience, laying off for a few weeks (totally clean, no opiates whatsoever) or a month or two of moderate use (swim has been on legit pain meds, 20 mgs hydrocodone a day for back issues, for a month now, and can feel the effects of oxycodone, ~20 mgs). oxymorphone is strong stuff, but there's not much that compares to heroin, so swiy will probably have to lay off that for at least a couple weeks.



just a thought: addiction is a beast, and several of the above mentioned have very high dependence potentials, specifically heroin and oxymorphone...if swiy is getting to where she feels desperate, maybe a break might be considered?

it's been moved--thanks lost! has swiy ever tried kratom for alleviation of withdrawals? it's worked for my cat in the past, and is much easier to taper off of than buprenorphine or methadone. please keep us updated on swiy's progress. a week is great! keep it up!

Kratom? That is something swim knows nothing about. I will look it up. Is it a herb?

SWIM thinks that none of SWIMS tablets work after SWIM went on the H express. Nothing works, no pain-killers, or nothing.

SwIm understands and for some reason,even though she has the oxymorphone and has tried it every way (besides the needle) and can not feel any euphoric feeling whatsoever. She has stopped the heroin(not by choice) for going on 2 weeks now and hopes that her system will reboot itself and she will be able to feel her meds again.

Whats the guy on about above, this isn't a recovery forum. It support people who do wish to recover, but it also supports people that wish to use. God though I hate antiopiate, recovery only forums.
