Smile Difference Between LSD and DMT

Hi guys,

This is going to sound stupid but, as SWIM has never experimented with DMT; could you tell SWIM what the difference in effects are between LSD and DMT?

Thanks,

STS

it depends on the form of ingestion of dmt.. orally (as in ayahuasca or anahuascas) or smoked as a freebase have their own distinct qualities

SWIM feels lsd is a bit more 'impersonal', like an instrument, a telescope or a microscope, that makes one think deeper and broader about things. This means one can look at one's own self, emotional issues, nature and 'true' things (whatever this means), but also one can get 'lost' in all sorts of fantasies, mistaken conclusions and so on. Its as if LSD is like the joker in playing cards, in those games where the joker can be used as any card. It has quite a potential for using recreationally, just having fun and so on, specially in lower dosages. It feels very 'electric', a bit like if one is some sort of super-human or cyborg.

With ayahuasca, for example, at least for SWIM there is much more a quality of 'truth' to it that one cant escape. It makes one see his own defects and 'sins´ much more clearly, maybe even too much for some people sometimes. Also it feels more organic, nature-related. It is much more likely to feel, see, hear or experience some sort of entity or entities. It is much less 'fun', and cannot really be used recreationally. Many times with ayahuasca one feels 'bad' during the trip (nausea, seeing your own mistakes, etc) and feels very good after, being very energetic the next day, wanting to put lessons in practice, because it is all very enlightening and transformative (with lsd its the inverse for SWIM, its good during but the day after he is tired and so on). This is another point, it seems to SWIM ayahuasca changes people more and more effectively than lsd. It also lasts less than lsd, maybe 4 hours depending on dosage . It seems to inspire more respect from those that take it

dmt is a full blown psychedelic cannon to the head. Its very quick, like 10 minutes, and with propper smoking (i.e. not the first time, usually), one can feel like he has really gone somewhere, like he is visiting a place or dimension that actually exists independent of you. The visuals are less 'melty' and more sharp than with lsd (this goes for ayahuasca also), and usually very very fast, even overwhelming (when smoked. with ayahuasca its slower). The thing with smoked is that, since its so fast and extremely bizarre, its somehow hard to learn from it something specific. Its very rarely about one's own self and mistakes, but more about visiting/seeing some fast-shifting insectoid technological transforming organic entities dimension. One thing one does learn every time is how incredible existence is, how reality is much more than we perceive and so on. Its like a shock, but a very good one somehow. Since DMT is so fast, some people (like SWIM) claim never to have a bad trip. One may think he is dying because the transformation is so absurd, but one always comes back, ALWAYS (its a good thing to remember when smoking).

there's several other different characteristics or nuances, but as you know, one can never really describe it. In any case, if you have any further question you want to ask, go ahead
