Health - The "Truth" About Resin

Saw this on another forum, so am posting.

As many of you know I work in a major research Hospital. In this hospital I have friends in HIGH places. Mainly the research center and labs.

My friend and I were discussing resin and he agreed to test a glob of it for me to determine the chemical make up of it.

I don't remember all the specifics of it but I do know this.

Resin isn't some life threatening deadly tar. 75-80% of resin consists of natural accruing oil's found in all plant matter. These oils are called Turpen's.

What causes resin is the smoke from the turpens is much heaver then the rest of the smoke so it settles in our pipes and bongs creating what we call resin.

Now these turpins have been used for many years for different applications such as sealants,glues,medicine(mainly for constipation) in the form of processed turpentine(mainly extracted from pine trees).

When it boils down to it resin is nothing but un processed turpentine laced with THC(5-10% depending on quality of marijuana).

5%-10% is the scientific tch content? swim would have thought it would be higher concidern swim gets realy high wen smoked.

Resin is a slang term with more than one meaning two different meanings that SWIM is aware of are below.
To some people;
-resin can be a pressed form of hash or keif - this form may be highly pure and potent or adulterated with non cannabis based products such as rubber, oil etc.
While to others;
-resin can be the oily residue scraped from the bowl and or stem of a pipe or bong which has been heated many times in the pipe/bongs usage and so is of very low potency an for most a last resort.
