steeping ground pods in GFJ rather than water
SWIM was considering to save trouble grinding up pods and just throwing them in a glass of grapefruit juice and drinking the juice, with the ground poppys and all. SWIM isn't quite sure if this would work because SWIM doesn't know whether the pods have to steep in water before the alkaloids can be activated or extracted, or if simply eating the ground poppys in juice will work just as well. Any opinions from fellow SWIYs?

Re: steeping ground pods in GFJ rather than water
The purpose of water or a slightly acidic water is to extract the opiates from the grounds.
The purpose of GFJ is to possibly potentiate certain opiates. This is most effectively achieved by consumption of the GFJ half an hour to an hour before the Poppy Tea is consumed because it takes a little time for the consistuants in GFJ to work their potentiation magic on the liver. The GFJ does not work its potentiation on the actual Opiates, it works as a reaction with the liver and certain enzymes responcible for the metabolism and break down of certain opiate structures. Therefor there would be no point in extracting with GFJ because the best level of potentiation will not be reached. Peace
