getting rid of the jitters
SWIM has ADHD and is prescribed Adderall - but he doesn't like the more physical side effects - like jitteriness and teeth clenching (SWIM thinks it's the levoamphetamine). He should be switching to Vyvanse in about a month, but while he's waiting for his psychiatrist appointment, he'd like to keep taking his Adderall. Is there anything he can do to diminish the physical jitteriness and teeth clenching without hurting the concentration effects too much? Of course it seems like a long shot, but is there anything lucky he could do to just knock the physical effects down a notch? Like, vitamin c makes the whole thing less effective... l-tyrosine knocks the mental effects up to an uncomfortable level even with small doses of adderall... anything inbetween? Any vitamins I might supplement lower doses with to boost them a little bit?

Re: getting rid of the jitters
what swiy can try to combat the teeth grinding and general tension is some magnesium, it seems to help with mdma physical side effects and act as a muscle relaxant, it could also be useful in keeping down your tolerance a bit which is cool if you don't want to keep upping your dose

Re: getting rid of the jitters
Try reducing your dosage, or at least spread out the doses. Nobody will break their 10mg pills in half and take 1/2 a pill every half hour, this seems to smooth out the effects considerably.

Re: getting rid of the jitters
a cold cup of icewater and a cigarette always calmed SWIM down when he got the jitters. doesn't seem to get them much anymore, though.

Re: getting rid of the jitters
Always a good idea to take a good multivitamin. Fish Oil & Flax Seed too maybe, rest assured you'll be balanced.

Re: getting rid of the jitters
A bit of ghb/gbl will cure this completely in swims experience. This isn't exactly OTC, or even legal though. Keep the dosages of adderall low, and the g if swiy has access low as well.

Re: getting rid of the jitters
SWIM agrees with potter on reducing the dose. SWIM finds that 30mg gives her that jittery-hand trembling effect (she's an addy-newbie), but 20 mg doesn't. When she needs to get stuff done (cleaning, errands, etc.), she takes 30mgs, but for things that SWIM needs to sit still for (lecture, hw, etc.), she takes 20mg.

Re: getting rid of the jitters
my cousins dog takes some xanax or kpins with his addies. And if he needs to study at night hell take it with temezapam. keeps him awake but all jitters are gone. and he says that even without the benzos he doesnt really get the jitters...does swiyou really have add??
and my cousins pet and phycatrist (sp?) says the xrs are suppose to be "smoother" maybe swiyou should try those. now the teeth clenching isnt really all that bad for him, but he does notice that...so all you swimmers are saying magnesium and fish oil/flax seed helps with the teeth clenching,, what about a mild muscle relaxer like robaxin or somerthing?? would that help with the clenching? |

Re: getting rid of the jitters
swim loves to pack up a few hits of herb to get rid of jitters. Not to much though or else swim wont be able to concentrate anymore. 2 or 3 hits of decent bud lets swim stay calm and focused.
