Simmering method... Stuck.
So SWIM and SWIMGF are trying to get some T. Peruvianus powder down their throats without a ridiculous amount of material nor the consistency. Thus they tried the simmering method where you'd simmer the material in question in water for a good 4-5 hours then strain it and consume the drink.
Well, they have about 93g of dried material which they threw into a pot and then added water until it covered the material 3 times over, then added copius amounts of citric acid(aq) this worked well at first as it seemed they lost a lot of liquid over the 4 hour period.
Now that wasn't the problem. What happened was when they tried to pour the material into ANY kind of filtering device (Coffee filter, cloth, t-shirt) it DID NOTHING, I'm serious, they tried using a press, using their hands, pretty much everything other than dropping very heavy objects onto the material in question. There just seemed to be no way to extract the liquid from the plant matter! All that would happen was a slimy substance would leak out slowly but wouldn't actually fall off the outside of the filter, it just stuck to it and you had to scrape off this gooey green substance which SWIM was not about to drink at all, plus there was no way he could get any more than a tablespoon of material out of it this way (which SHOULD have about 90g of material's worth in mescaline).
Does anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions at all? Thanks in advance.
