dont do ssri’s and Ecstasy
SSRI means Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Thus the substance works only on the neurotransmitter serotonin & it blocks the reuptake (read: blocks a large part of the action) of serotonin. Ecstasy mainly works on serotonin (also a bit on dopamine, which explains possible neurotoxicity of XTC), because the structure of MDMA & related compounds is very simular to the structure of serotonin. The same goes for hallucinogens as they have effect primarely be affecting a serotonin receptor. (5HT2a) |

I took St. John's Wort (said to have similar neurological effects to SSRI's) and definitely noticed a decrease in effects, one pill would make me feel kind of weird and edgy instead of really good, but if I took more over the night (I usually wouldn't take two at once because of nausea) I would eventually reach a pretty decent peak (but a bit short lived for the amount of pills I was taking - usually 3 over a couple hours).
