I know it is possible to extract opium from dry poppy pods. Is the extractions actually opium, or mostly morphine as opposed to a mix of chems. Is it possible to smoke a simple evaporated opium putty, and if not, what prevents it from being smoked. Also, what is the best possible way to exract smokable opium from dried pods. The idea of eating opium screams OD.

You wont get many answers because extracting from dried poppies isnt very popular here ... the fine gentlemen prefer other opies ...
 of course just kidding. Do a search in the opiate chem. forum. There is a large topic about extracting from pods.
