Canada - Recording on your own camera/computer

swim saw on TV a while back on a program on serial killers, one man was communicating through the mail and wanted to go a bit faster. he eventually was tricked into sending in a floppy disc with all his information on it from when the word processor was registered.

swim's question is if someone were to record on their camera and then compile a video, is it traceable? can you safley upload it somewhere without big brother comming over having a print out with your name on it?
