Effects - LSA - Mirror transformations: Melting morphing face

Some guy whom talked to a friend of mine said:

When I take LSA the first thing I can do to see if the effects are starting to come on is go look in a mirror. The first visible effects for me is that my face starts to change when looked at in the mirror. This effect is consistent throughout the trip and also the last noticeable thing when all other visual effects / hallucinations are gone.

Mostly it consists of a "melting" effect, where the face transforms to rather grotesque figures. I call it the "melting" effect due to the appearnce of the skin of the face melting away or looking very scarred and nasty. Kinda Freddy Kruger. Other friends have reported the same effects , one of them saying he "looks like an Ork" when checking the mirror.

So I'm curious on what effects others have when it comes to the mirror looking, is similar things observed or completely different things, or nothing at all?

I am also curious on theories behind this effect. Such as, why is it grotesque forms appearing and not something more pleasent? I do not find it difficult or disturbing to look at this transformation mind you, indeed I find it fascinating and I do try to understand the nature of what process is going on.

Personally I've been philosophizing about the fluid reality of existence, meaning that nothing is really solid but consists of energy, and thus what I see is a reflection of this, making the normal solid face "melt" away into something else thus looking grotesque and deformed.

This melting effect also affects the body when looking at limbs like hands, arms, legs. It is sometimes making things like the ridges and veins in the hands and arms become more enhanced while other features gets less visible, thus making it look more like a sort of "skinned" feature, meaning that it looks like if the very outer layer of skin is removed and it is possible to view within.

That's a common thing mostly with LSD. As you said the interesting part is that people tend to see their faces transform into grotesque figures. SWIM's face usually transforms into a devil: really red, thick lips, rough features and sometimes with horns. From there it can go to angry dog faces similar to pitbulls or rottweilers. SWIM's friends report similar effects, always looking like zombies, orks, angry animals, witches, etc. None of them say it's scary or disturbing it's rather interesting and fascinating.

As with other visuals sometimes SWIM is able to guide how his reflection looks. For instace, if SWIM fixes his attention to his hair and imagines how it would look longer it starts to grow and passes through various haircuts. Like afro, long and straight, dreadlocks and others he can't remember.

SWIM looks at the mirror usually during the come down. He believes that during the peak psychadelics have much more to offer and it would be a waste of time.

When people pass in front of a mirror they stay there for a while trying to figure out why they look so strange with those really dilated pupils. Then it's all mind tricks. It's intriguing why only grotesque faces appear, although I believe someone might see kind and angelic features.

Thanks for the youtube tip. SWIM agrees this is indeed a fascinating topic worth more study. And SWIM too is able to somewhat affect the appearance, but not much when it comes to the look itself, but simply to make it more powerful, he does this by taking a deep breath while wanting the changes become stronger and thus it does. But he did try to make himself look like an angel and so on but it didnt work out, was still just the old nasty zombie there

SWIM is pondering upon many "solutions" to what the source of this phenomena can be, considering most people report the very same here. Collective Consciousness / Universal Mind etc comes into thoughts, perhaps a reflection of the total true face of Mankind, which in SWIMs opinion would suit the images seen though not necessarily be fitting to SWIM himself.

Any other experiences and theories here are more than welcome!

When SWIM takes LSD and looks in the mirror his face doesn't ussualy melt that much, he generally just sees moving patterns going all over his face, which causes his eyes, nose and mouth to change shape. SWIM noticed a similar effect on LSA.

As I write this I have no idea what LSA is but I found this thread whilst searching for a different one. When my friend SWIM had those legal Purple Ohms he experienced this melting and morphing effect. Also when he had these pills that were sold as extacy, and to a lesser extent, from LSD. SWIM said he is very interested in what is the actual chemical that causes this effect. LSD he can understand. When on the fake extacy pills (with like a sparrow/robin design on them) the effect was incredible - chanderleers and branches would flow so beautifully and morph so clearly. Another effect from those rogue pills was that if SWIM focused on the TV after not giving it any attention the program that was on would run in fast forward mode for a few seconds, sound and video, which was for SWIM absolutely amazing! It was as if SWIM was catching up to real time or something.

SWIM sees the grotesque faces on people on posters and the TV but never on himself or his friends. SWIM finds them funny and one elderly sign language lady on TV had him in hysterics with her troll face and rave dance moves!

SWIY's pills contained some sort of psychedelic, thats why SWIY has these morphing effects. Pretty much all psychedelics have this effect apart from the ones that just send you to another world, like DMT or salvia. Also how are purple ohms legal?

Because they contain crushed HBWR seeds as the main active with a few other herbs to add to the experience.

SWIM has never had this effect, although a friend of SWIM's said when he took DXM he looked in the mirror and he had no face at all. This scared him quite thoroughly and he never took it again. Another friend of SWIM's took LSA and reported feeling as though his legs were melting, but he never took the time to look at them.
