"DEA" television show

Sooo I figure this might interest some of you. The TV show "DEA" (for those of you not from the US, the DEA stands for Drug Enforcement Agency"), which is basically "Cops" but busting drug dealers, has moved its filming location to Newark, NJ. Just what swim needs, a bunch of DEA agents with cameras running around on the block

Re: "DEA" television show

They don't really go after addicts. There are always exceptions though. SWIM has seen that show, and many many episodes of "Cops" and believe it or not, it IS legal for them to 'bait' a user, and they can offer you drugs, and arrest you for trying to buy it. This can be taken as entrapment, however, that is only to be argued after the fact, after you've been arrested, charged, and payed quite a lot of money to try and get yourself out. Just a word to the wise, be careful when buying off the street.

However, DEA is more concerned with the dealers than street junkies. Their favorite targets are dealers who have no job, and a lot of valuable possessions that can be seized. SWIM has seen them take flat screen TV's, cars, jewelry, cash, even the house you live in, along with the drugs they came for. These items then become property of the department/DEA, and are usually auctioned off to fund more drug busts.

Drugs are only illegal so the government can make money.

Correction, "their favourite targets are people (with jobs) who have drugs and might deal to friends and who own lots of valuable possessions that can be seized," followed by actual self-professed drug dealers with lots of valuable assets, and maybe an actual big time dealer if they need some headlines and get a chance.

Yea swimmers need to have their wits about them, if you aproach a dealer and there is big silver umbrella positioned behind him, some dude checking the light quality, 2 people holding cameras and 1 guy with a big fluffy microphone, be very suspicious it may well be a trap?

Not too sure how things work where SWIY lives, but here, yea, they don't like to waste time on users when they can catch the dealer. And it's especially easy to seize property if someone is dealing drugs, has no job, and cannot prove they paid for the merchandise legally.

I beg to Differ. The DEA (and it's like in SWIMs Count) like to bust Users and pressure them to reveal their Sauce{haha}. It's No FUN.... SWIM was "busted" because his Idiot dealer left Him waitng outside a 7-11, Post office and Betting Shop(TAB) for 2 + 1/2 hours!
SWIM caved and gave "Them" a number to call, a "d'l'r' that was on the inside anyway but was threatened with prosecution, a sentence that would have severly restricted SWIM international travel and other prospects.
SO BEWARE!!!! These Guys have no Morals and NO Shame!

OH, and IF they do get hold of SOLY's Mobile (Cell) Ph or SOLY "Caves" the Dealer (or His/Her Friends) will come looking for You then your really up shyte creek with-out a Paddle!

Shitty story, but you know how that could have been avoided? Don't stay in the same place for that long waiting, either go drive around a bit and come back when your dealer actually shows, or just say "fuck it" and find a new dealer that doesn't leave you hangin

Hopefully you'll never have to snitch on your dealer again, SWIM has had the local sheriffs department on his balls after they caught him with shit, but that was a CHANCE encounter with the police, which was later ruled an illegal search, so SWIM got off the hook completely. However, they were trying to get SWIM to give up his dealer and SWIM just played it dumb, "who? oh don't know who you're talkin about" which pissed them off greatly but in the end, if you don't snitch they usually can't bust you or anyone else.

See how the law works? If you happen to be in an area where theres a camera filming some DEA agents your a lot more likely to get busted. How fair is that?

Anyone else notice that in 'cops' whenever the filth don't get any action for the cameras they always go to the shady part of town and harass drug abusers, smelly fucking robots is what they are.
