Smoking - Bored of everything else.

SWIM has been doing a lot of shit for a lot of years but SWIM has never been addicted to anything as such. but SWIM is now smoking brown on the foil just once every week or 2.

Is it possible for SWIM to maintain this sort of intake or will SWIM be wanting more frequent hits.??

It is very risky and in swims opinion just not worth the risk. You may be suprised how many addicts started out by saying 'Oh ill only do it once a fortnight.' Swim has seen and heard of many times a fortnight turning into a week and a week turning into twice a week and soon it is every day. Lots of people fall under the empression that they will be able to handel it but it is really hard for most people to actually follow through with that.

yea its kind of hard to keep it at a "once a week" habit. in fact, no one can do it. smoking seems to be more addicting than snorting, SWIM has a habit of only snorting some once or twice a week but SWIM used to be a heavy user, not long ago, and its only after using for 3 or 4 years that SWIM has been able to get his habit under control. its still not a good way to live, but its better than being sick all the time, or bored all the time. there are nights where SWIM has to try so hard not to spend his money, it really does suck. sometimes he gives in, and gets it, but not very often lately. good luck to you, hope swim provided some insight

Thanks for the replies everyone. Swim does have a very "all or Nothing" personality & that's the reason why swim lets his wife take control of all his money.

She takes charge of eveything, from paying the bills to putting food on the table. Swim only gets a few pound every 2 weeks just as pocket money & tghen he'll buy just a bag which would last 2 days.

What Swim likes about buying it is the cloak & dagger aspect about it & he find the women double sexy who wanna smoke with me. These things draw me in too. Anyone else share similar feelings.??

SWIM sort of agrees. He once slept with his dealers older sister as she was coming on to him strong. SWIM thought he would be PISSED but he didnt care. Dope encounters can be quite sexy

LOL, yeah, I agree that there's something inticing about the dark side of life. That said, there's a lot about it that's simply f**king depressing. But it has a way of drawing you in nonetheless...

On the subject of controlled use, I found an article that might interest you - "User perceptions of occasional and controlled heroin use"

It's an interesting article, but please bare in mind that it's hardly quality evidence.

As someone who's attempting to manage occasional use after a period of addiction, Swie feels that even if it's possible to maintain it long-term (which for so many people it isn't), she'll never be 100% involved in 'real life' unless she says goodbye to heroin for good.

I can't speak for everyone, but I find it hard to believe that it's possible to use heroin regularly (or lots of other drugs) and live wholeheartedly in a way you'd be happy with at the end of your life. And we only get one chance.

What started off as occasional use is now starting to grab hold of Swim.

Swim smoked some on Wednesday night & usually wouldn't give it a second thought for atleast a week or 2, but not now. Now it's like at the front of my mind constantly, luckily Swim's wife takes care of all the money otherwise someone would be out there now scoring.
