methylin jaw problem help

I know this guy who was taking daily 15mg of methylin (generic ritalin) in doses of 5mg every few hours. He did this for a week and during that time his jaw, neck, shoulder and chest muscles were tensing up and would not relax til the drug wore off. He was pushing his tongue on his teeth and the roof of his mouth, sucking on his teeth and his teeth were chattering. He has stopped taking the methylin and two days later still cannot close his jaw all the way or chew whole food. He is eating a liquid diet and worried his jaw is wrecked forever. He has not been able to find anything at all online or in the manufacturer's literature regarding jaw problems from methylin. If you know anything about this or how to fix it please help!
