Opinions - Positive and negative aspects of heroin on SWIY lifes

The positive aspects for SWIM are that

• heroin really eases his depression.
• It gives him something to focus on
• Has lead to some good friends
• Could possibly be dead without it

Negative:

• Pinholes and general pain from injecting frequently
• Lead to stealing
• Family is more distant
• Friends do not seem to bother as much anymore
• Has lead to some really bad acquaintances
• Also has lead to some bad experiences in general

1. SWIM does not have a lot of people around her and therefore can be alone without being sad
2. Heroin has given SWIM her own important agenda
3. SWIM was let down badly by so called friends in the past and heroin has helped her get over this

21. judges will show you little mercy if you get in trouble
22. any drug that the dealer doesnt use sounds like bad news
23. it worries people who love you
24. noone wants to date a junky - except another junky
25. getting in is easy, getting out seems impossible at times

Positive

• Swim has now experienced pretty amazing feeling that comes with taking H.
• Swim dosn't really worry about all the other things that used to really worry her before.
• As said above it has helped keep her slim!
• It has provided swim with a somewhat sucurity blanket.
• It has made her go through a lot of life experiences that have taught her a lot. Swim would defintaly not have gone through them without it.
• It has introducted swim to some friends.

Negative

• Swim has put her family and the people that care about her through hell.
• Swim has spent god knows how much money on the stuff and is now in a lot of debt.
• Swims health has detirirated.
• Swims arms are a mess due to injecting.
• Swim has been in some pretty dangerous situations.
• Swim has lost pretty much all her possetions, even down to her diarys and photos albums and pets.
• Swim has done some things she never thought she was capable of and she is afraid willl now haunt her the rest of her life.
• Swim has gone through a lot of physical pain through withdrawl.
• Swim has got kicked out of university.
• Swim has lost her home in London and had to move back to Scotland with her parents.
• Swim has lost some really good friends.
• Swim has lost a lot of respect for herself as she is sure have others.
• Swim has lost her job.

Thats all swim can think of at the moment. Sadly there is probably more..

That's about it really. If swim had some decent money, he really can't see how gear could possibly have a negative effect on his life.

That's the plus side.

The down side? Withdrawl, loss of friends who look after you, money, and once people know, no matter what kind of user you are, you're only a drugged up, stupid addict who's going to die young, broke, and miserable.

• Oddly, unlike most H users, SWIM has increased energy.
• SWIM, who is usually fatigued and depressed, finds his mood brightened. He can get out of bed each day.
• SWIM honestly believes he is a better father and husband.
• Life's problems drift away.

Negatives

• SWIM is seriously in debt.
• SWIM's tolerance has skyrocketed, and as much as he tries to exercise self-control, he cannot, and he tears through bundles of H at an alarming rate.
• His wife knows he is an opiate user and suspects he is shooting something, which has caused marital trust problems.
• When SWIM is without H for a few days, he returns to being a shell of a person.
• SWIM sometimes doesn't concentrate on what's important. Instead, he obsesses about his next hit.
• SWIM knows he will have to stop using H but is scared to do so.

MAkes swim able to bear life. Before H he was a depressed wreck and now he has his bad times but he will feel good most of the time.
ANy negatives seem to come from its illegal status. It it was legal it would be cheaper and thus he would never need to go through wds. It would be pure so injecting would be safer. Less health risks.
