Opinions - Best choice

SWIM has been given the choice to change the 90mgs. of Methadone(daily) to various forms of extended release morphine. Brand names in the states are Avinza, Kadian, MS Contin and Opana ER. Which may be better and why? Not sure of the dose that will be offered either so what would be a good bargain? Leaning towards the MS Contin as SWIM believes it is a single coated tab. THX

The MS contin, if swim is right, contains the little wax balls that just really suck. Theres very few pleasureable ways around those suckers. The avinzas are pleasureable but if youre insufflating them it feels like youre sniffing hot glass in the form of dust. Swim would recommend plugging those rectally if you get them. The best choice by far for swim and most swimmers is the opana (depending on dose of course). The opana is actually oxymorphone and most people find it more euphoric than morphine.

OK? Swim is confused as thought the clinic did not use Oxymorphone, actually the nurse suggested that. HHMM. SWIM said thanks.

Depending on SWIY's needs this can vary.If SWIY is looking for Pain relief Avinza (depending on the doseage) can work quite nicely along with some Opana IR or other med for Break through PN(also depending on SWIY's tolerance).
Avinza and Kadian are basicly the same with time released morphine that comes in capsules containing a shitload of tiny beads.SWIMMERS have been known to inject as well as brown these (analy)with good results but this can be a pain in the ass dealing with the beads and crushing them.They are wax coated so if injecting they must be filtered very well.Opana in SWIM's oppinion are VERY good ESPECIALLY the IR's.As stated above many SWIMMERS claim they are much more euphoric than morphine and can be insufflated without problems .

SWIM just finished the 4th related back surgery. Discectomy in '93, 360* 2 level fusion in 2000 and a pump imbedded a few years ago but removed as it was on the fritz. Was getting 25mgs. of Morphine intrathecally with the pump, 90mgs. of Methadone a day and 96mgs. of hydromorphone a day. Plus 60mgs. of dextroamps, 40 of a benzo, etc and etc. The beat goes on. Now with the pump out SWIM is hurting and wanted a change. Now not sure if it will be offered or not. It was denied as being offered when SWIM has it in writing! Some tolerance I believe. Awaiting tests for the next surgery to try to remove what they could not get to a couple weeks ago. Used to enjoy it but just want the pain gone and the pills also. However SWIM will always be on some level of narcotic. Just want to know what it is like to be clean once before SWIM goes home. SWIM was stolen, kidnapped and there is no ransom. SWIM seems to be a permanent guinea pig. Depressed now too. Thanks to all. The Opana will be ER so SWIM would gather 2/day if offered and who knows what level. THX
