Opinions - first use of new RX of 30mg Adderall

SWIM has had 20mg RXd for a long time and just updated to the 30mg.

SWIM is +3min and has yet to feel anything

+40min feeling great and not tweaky at all this is a surprise and very different so far from the old 20mg regiment.

+70min no change from 30 minutes earlier, I will change this in an hour seems more appropriate maybve half an hour. so far 30mg has been more positive than the 20mg regiment both being 2x daily btw

The question is--and I am meaning to see if this thread has been started--if SWIY's RX is for a TRUE ADHD /classic diagnosis. If SWIY is one of those 'classic' opposite people, then there will be no real notice. IF SWIY is used to 20, going to 40 will definitely hype one up for a few hours to the point of agitation and tachycardia. Unfortunately, to be honest- adderal XR really only stays in your system with one 'feeling ' it for about 6 hours max. Insomnia well after- yes. But true pharmacology of that drug is not a real XR like they would make one think. No 12 hours about that drug for sure.
Like I said, depends on usage and the wiring or mis wiring of the beautiful minded one who takes it!

lostinla, I would have to disagree, a drugs time-frame first of all is individual, second Adderall XR taken orally in fact lasts longer than 6 hours. Adderall XR releases 50% of the amphetamine salts instantly then the other after a while typically around when the first wears off. SWIM can stay up 12 hours easy with one dose of Addy XR's.

That's interesting... maybe at that dose the ratio of amphetamine levels in the brain are higher then in the body for SWIY. SWIM does not know why this would be but it is a good thing. SWIM is happy you found a good dose.

Also for SWIM after about 6-7 hours pass and is feeling seemingly come down yet has some small effects linger. SWIM's heart rate and stimulation level stays elevated about 2 hours after psychological effects seem diminished. SWIM finds this annoying as the heart rate and peripheral stimulation are unpleasant without an equally affected mental state. SWIM thinks the levoamphetamine is longer lasting then the dextroamphetamine. Probably why Adderall uses racemic amphetamine instead of just dextro, to make it feel longer.

That's sort of my point. And hey, we can disagree, that's the freedom we have here! Hence why I was guessing whether a speed dabbler or a true 'opposite child'. Both would feel MUCH different. And yes, staying up for 12 hours, but if going for the affects of a stimulant, you are right to say the come'down would be felt a bit after 6. Shoot we could argue the half lives of all substances here getting down to the nitty gritty and argue how one leaves traces for 72 hrs, and so on and so on.
No offense! I love this forum and the debating on personal experiences and then putting them together with scientific facts. Too much info for sure. You do know your amphetamines!

SWIM did not sleep last night not even after 3 2mg xanax bars 2 at once then 1 2hrs later and no sleep. SWIM should have KOd so SWIM has put his xanax away for a while in case it is a tolerance issue. SWIM rarely abuses his RXs but has used his xanax to party the past 3-4 days so that could be the case of not being able to knock out.

it would not be rare for SWIMs 30mg taken for the 1st time in maybe 2 months maybe 3(his last Adderall RX was used very lightly and lasted much longer than a month) to give him insomnia because of the reintroduction of the old drug that is new again to SWIM's system plus the fact the 30mg was taken roughly 10 minutes before 5pm.

SWIM hit the sack at 3am tho after 2-3 beers and 2mg of xanax which part of the 3 taken through the night do not think SWIM is crazy, he knows his medication and its uses and limits.plus a wonderful time in a jacuzzi mmmmmmmmmm had to mention sorry it was beautiful. so so long since a relaxing time in a very warm jacuzzi at midnight in SWIMifornia.

SWIM will take his 2nd dose very early today, yesterday SWIM took only that 1 dose at 5pm. today SWIMs 1st dose was at 6:30am after breakfast. so SWIM is thinking lunch and dosage around 2pm.

or maybe later because tonight will be a long night for SWIM being his friends bday party and it lasting most likely past 2am starting roughly around 9/10pmish. SWIM will still take his 2nd dose the latest at 3-4pm but planning for 2pm closely after lunch. SWIM will keep record in his book he keeps personal, secret and business matter inside seperated sections.

SWIM sees no point reporting like he did on the 1st post so he will just keep track by the hour and post after the party or when he wakes up tomorrow.
