Question about tolerance
SWIM found out about codeine recently, and got some Co-Codamol 8/500 from the local chemist on monday. SWIM has never taken any opiates before, and before he came on here, didn't know too much about relative tolerances.
On monday, he took 24 of the pills, did a rushed CWE. Filtered several times the cloudy mixture until it was completely clear. He thinks he ended up with ~100mg of codeine in the cup. Drank it down, found it disgusting. About an hour later, he began to feel a little drowsy, limbs a tiny bit heavy, but other than that, nothing.
Several hours later, SWIM was sitting at his computer talking to people on msn, having taken the codeine roughly 5 hours ago. SWIM suddenly began to have trouble breathing, which progressed to wheezing and faintness. He then blacked out, woke up, had another episode of shortness of breath, and went to bed.
Idiotically unphased, he purchased some more co-codamol the next day, returning home and engaging in a more thorough and lossless extraction with 32 pills, ending up with around 200mg of codeine. He drank it, about 20 minutes later, he began to feel something akin to drunkedness, and this pleasantly listless state carried on for roughly 2 hours. After this, SWIM had a pleasant nights sleep.
The question is, considering SWIM has never had panic attacks before, and has never passed out before, what are the chances that during a stressful month, the panic attacks could be related to the codeine, considering they came on roughly 5 hours after first taking it?
The second experience was related for comparison. Is it possible that the panic attacks were unrelated and SWIM does, in fact, have an average tolerance of opiates?
Thank you for any suggestions, and sorry about the longwindedness.
