MDMA and heart problems

Swim took a fake E pill as his first time on E two weeks ago. He also ingested Cannabis. Since then, Swim is paranoid about his heart. He doesn't have chest pain but he does have discomfort. Swim definitely feels something. He has had repeated panic attacks, especially when smoking too much cannabis since then.

Swim recently acquired some new Ecstasy pills. According to xxxxxxxxxxx, they are legit MDMA. Yay! Swim wants to drop them Friday night, however Swim is concerned about his heart. Is he being paranoid? Will dropping two pills of this MDMA cause a risk for Swim to have a heart attack or will it increase the pain causing Swim to have anxiety or panic attacks, thus ruining the pleasureable experience MDMA induces? Or should Swim just relax and take it easy (Swim plans to avoid Cannabis while on E this time around).

What is your advice for Swim?

Re: MDMA and heart problems

Ok, first SWIY would want to make sure what was in that fake pill, SWIM thinks that whatever it was, he doubts it could cause a heart problem. SWIM has also got severe paranoia from smoking cannabis, every time. So he has decided to stop using cannabis, it just isn't his drug. Ecstasy on the other hand is amazing and it does depend on the setting.
SWIM sees that SWIY is in deed a little paranoid and shouldn't take the mdma right now as it could cause a panic attack. Realizing that currently SWIY is very worried and shouldn't drop the mdma in this mindset. Leave SWIY some time to settle, maybe a week or two and when SWIY feels ready he should then take it.
Based on what SWIY said, if he doesn't have any heart problems, taking any medication, or have a recent injury, and that the fake pill was just junk, then his heart is fine.

Agreed. Solid information with borderline great harm prevention advice.

Re: MDMA and heart problems

It could just be the cannabis what gives swiy problems.. And swim agrees with Readux. At least don't double drop !! Start with a small amount like half a pill and go from there.

Re: MDMA and heart problems

The fake pills contained BZP and speed. I think SWIY is right about the cannabis as it does cause paranoia to Swim in high doses but Swim smoked cannabis before taking those fake pills and was just fine.

Should Swim go to the doctor for a checkup before dropping the pills?

Re: MDMA and heart problems

There is no harm in going to the doctors, and if SWIY has time, definitely go. So if the doctor gives SWIY a clean bill of health, then he can roll in peace. Good luck!

Re: MDMA and heart problems

Swim went to the doctor today. They did an EKG test and took Swim's blood pressure. They said everything seems normal. But then the doctor said she had no real way of diagnosing a heart problem based on that. She asked if Swim had a family history of heart problems. No. She asked if Swim smokes or takes drugs. No. She said based on that, she doesn't think it's a problem but that she's not psychic and it's still possible Swim could have a heart attack. She referred Swim to a cardiologist.

Swim is upset about that. He wants to roll tonight in peace but now he feels even a very small dose of MDMA might induce panic attacks.

Swim needs some more reassurance that his heart is not in danger. He has given up cannabis for awhile and hasn't smoked it in three days. He drunk some alcohol last night but that's it. Swim still feels aches and occasional pinches in his heart but that could be due to panic, anxiety or stress.

Please help Swim enjoy his time on E!

Re: MDMA and heart problems

One thing I would say that would help swiy enjoy his time on E a lot more, is to make sure you do it with someone else not on your own! Partly cause it will reassure swiy to have someone there so he'll be less likely to feel anxious and also it seems like a waste to do it on your own. MDMA is all about being with other people, talking, listening to music together, that sort of thing. At least that's what most people seem to think! Also, make sure swiy is in a nice place where they feel comfortable, that will make it a lot better. Good luck

Re: MDMA and heart problems

If SWIY is really worried about his heart, try running a mile. And see if it is any different from usual. As in trouble breathing or light headed. Basically just do anything to stress SWIYs heart as in sports wise, and compare it to what swiy already knows about his body. But at this point, SWIM wouldn't take the mdma yet because SWIY is still very worried and should result this problem.

If SWIY is truly worried please have him follow through with his trip to the cardiologist before partaking in ANY recreational drug use. The last thing SWIM would want to hear is that someone came to the forum seeking help and was given ill advice and put their well-being at risk. If SWIY has any doubts he does not need to be ingesting anything that could cause harm.

Reading the previous posts, SWIM thinks that SWIY is just suffering from panic attacks which are very common. Regardless, please evaluate SWIY's frame of mind and physical status before taking anything. Please be safe.

PS- Running a mile is not a good way to see if you have a heart condition. WTF?

Re: MDMA and heart problems

There is actually very, very little evidence that MDMA causes any problems with peoples hearts. In very high doses of course (like grams of the stuff) but compared to stimulants like coke or speed, or even nicoteine, MDMA is very easy on peoples hearts. It will likely not increase your heart rate any more than it would if you walked around the block, and not raise your blood pressure any more than a brisk stroll. Honestly, dont worry about it. If its good MDMA the last thing you will be worrying about is your heart, you wont be worrying about anything at all, but will be in a state of pure bliss. Hot and cold flushes are normal too, dont get put off by them either, swim used to sweat like a mother fucker when coming up sometimes, but most people dont get this at all.
Swim also gets slight twitches in his heart, they are normal, the doctor said they would only be concerned if it was happening more than every 20-30 minutes. Just have plenty of vitamins, and try to have some 5-htp for the comedown, or lots of bananna's.

Just have fun on it, if its good MDMA it will be very hard not to
