Health - Is there some danger having sex with someone who does or did cocaine before ???

Swim is just curious. Swim used to be a user as well for about a year and built up high tolerance. He is happy to say that he has been clean for more than a year now, quit cold turkey. He came across a very beautiful girl who he likes very much and enjoys her company. She is 19 and swim is 23. She knows that SWIM was a user before and she admitted she was also a user for 2 years. Swim doesn't know what he should believe or whatever but she claims to be user for about 2 years, 5 times a week as her x bf was the supplier and they always had a steady amount of snow. The last time she did it was in November. She is a nice looking girl, and goes to school to become a registered nurse. Holds a full time job and goes to school. Looks like she is the ONLY one who could be something in her family as she told me her entire family background. When Swim asked her about her coke use and why she did it she says it runs in the family. She is Colombian from Medellin, came to US when she was 4. So if she indeed used coke for 2 straight years, then she started when she was 17. Swim can't blame her for using because I was user myself and managed to quit this evil drug and to this day Swim preachesand give advices to young people and try to steer them away from cocaine.

Swim is very sorry for this long post, but wanted to give you an idea about this entire situation.

Swim had sex with this girl and liked it very much. She said she slept with about 10 guys altogether, and ofcourse swim can't believe this. Anyways, is there any type of danger having sex with someone who did coke before or is still doing it >???

Also, at this point swim doesn't know what to do. Should SWIM pursue this relationship with her ?? She slept with 10 guys, and looks like did stupid things before just like Swim did but to be honest swim would like a girlfriend that has slept with less people and was never a drug user..

Swim has no clue what to do.

First off, what would prompt SWIY to think there would be a problem with having sex with someone that has done cocaine? That logic does not compute and seems completely irrational.

Secondly you're applying a very hypocritical standard on this poor girl. SWIY has used cocaine yet you don't want to be with someone who does, but you are forcing them to be with someone who has used cocaine, SWIYself. Notice the hypocrisy? It also sounds like you have absolutely no faith or trust in this person, this would need to be changed if a real relationship were to ever occurr. It seems like there are more issues with yourself than with the other person that actually need dealing with.

there is no actual danger having sex with someone who does or did cocaine before. Or any drugs actually.
if the issue, the danger, is actually fear of HIV or other STD's connected to supposed risk behaviours, which are believed to be associated with the partner's drug use, well the issue is pretty much covered by the fact that swiyou should start out by having protected "safe" sex, ie use a condom and other recommended protection measures anyway. And get yourselves tested for HIV and STD's. And then, once the results are clear, time validated, and there's enough trust in the other's behaviour then eventually consider unprotected sex...

if the issue is some kind of "moral danger" that swiyou feels threatened by, as in getting pushed into doing drugs, or somekind of criminal danger of being associated with a potential drug user, well this isn't really connected to having sex, but to developping a relationship with that person. but there is little danger in having sex as long as it's protected sex, as it should be at the start of a relationship.

I dont understand why past drug use is an issue, swim actually had trouble with an ex because he used drugs and she didnt. A lack of understanding is more likely to ruin a relationship than a better understanding swim thinks.

As far as how many people she has slept with....most men dont like the idea of other guys having sex with a woman they are interested in be it past/present or future. But for many guys this is an issue more about their own sexual paranoia more than anything..... the more men a woman has slept with the more a guy wonders about stupid shit like : is his dick big enough, did she prefer fucking other guys, does she sleep around - basically it raises many powerful insecurities in a mans mind.... but its the actual worrying about the stupid things that seems to be far worse than than anything else. If you like the girl then forget about her past and go for it, if you dont like her then dont go for it, just dont let over paranoia influence your decisions for you.

I have a friend whose boyfriend did coke...she was on a diversion program at the time and completely sober. a day before her drug test her and her boyfriend had sex and he came in her. she was positive for coke the next day and couldn't really explain the situation.

haha doesn't really answer your question since you're a guy..but maybe this is a warning for some of the girls

Well after reading this study,apparently if a woman gets pregnant while the man is using cocaine,it can cause adverse behaviour in the sperm and could lead to developmental issues.

X_ale,Drug testing science is not my thing but i believe that document also disprove your friends statement about not using cocaine,eitehr hte test was wrong or she lied about her use,the amount of metaboliotes(specificaly benzoylecgonine) excreated in seman would not be enough to be abosbred by hte female and still cause a postive test the next day.

my girlfriend is a damn good girl, she had sex with one dude before I met her, and I had slept with one girl before I met her.. that means we cancel each other out..

i cant be mad there.

when I was first with her, it irritated me how many dudes she had kissed and would mess around with.. but I thought about it, and I wasn't clear of doing the same shit.

if you care about someone, then all that matters is now, and your future together.

I say both things should be a complete non-issue.
The drug use is total hypocrisy, you did it, the only question is, can you deal with someone that still uses? That would be a more appropriate way to look at the situation. These kinds of drugs are definitely the one's that "call your name" so I think your REAL problem is that she still does, and you now know you have a source.

As far as the 10 partners. If you asked, and didn't want the truth, you shouldn't have asked in the first place. HUGE mistake made by younger people. Especially men. Like someone else mentioned above, it's your own insecurities that are making you be so bothered by this. I used to make this mistake all the time when I was younger, and finally learned my lesson. From my experience, guys are usually fine w/the number as long as theirs is at least double the female, it's testosterone baby!

If you like her, and see a future of some sort, then you need to look at your "problems" in a different way, and discuss them with her. If you don't see yourself being with her for a long time, end it now, don't drag it out!
