How to potentiate opiates using 1-3 beers
Swim has been experimenting recently and has found that it is possible to significantly potentate opiates using a SMALL amount of alcohol.
Warning: Using alcohol to increase the intensity of opiates can result in an overdose causing respiratory depression and maybe death. This little guide of Swims is designed with safety in mind. Why would you want to potentiate opiates? Well for example if you only have a small amount on you and not enough to get a normal effect. Monitoring your pulse rate and breathing: Okay you should use the following method to monitor your pulse and breathing: Over 10 seconds carefully count your pulse and multiply this by 6 to get your heart beats per minute. Over 20 seconds carefully count your breathing (try to breath normally) and multiply by 3 to get your breaths per minute. Before you start using the opiate sit down and relax for a few minutes and measure your breathing and pulse to get a base reading for comparison later. It IS CRITICAL to keep a CLOSE eye on your pulse and respiration to avoid significant respiratory depression. The Steps involved: 1. Take your opiates and wait until they hit peak effect. This is dependent on how long it takes the opiate to absorb fully into your blood stream. Make sure you know this information. Make sure you wait until the opiates are at FULL effect or otherwise you might be putting yourself in danger. 2. Measure your pulse and breathing. If you have experienced more than a mild slowdown in pulse and breathing then you should NOT add alcohol into the equation. Also if you are very strongly effected by the opiates already ie heavily sedated or nodding, you should NOT be adding alcohol. 3. Slowly, over 7-8 minutes drink 1 x 375ml bottle of full strength beer. Wait 10 minutes after finishing. Measure your pulse and respiration. If you notice any significant slow down do NOT consume any more beer. 4. If your pulse and respiration are okay you may repeat step 3 with one more beer. Waiting 10 minutes after finishing each beer and monitoring your pulse and breathing the whole time. You should only consider drinking a 3rd beer if you are quite used to drinking alcohol and have a fair tolerance to it. Drinking more than 2-3 beers is strongly NOT recommended and may be dangerous. Warning: Drinking alcohol with opiates increase the chance of nausea. If you are prone to nausea on opiates you should not try this. If you start feeling nauseous while consuming alcohol you should cease consuming more alcohol. Drinking alcohol may also increase the effects of dizziness, be careful not to fall over. I found the above method strongly increase the physical effects of opiates, ie relaxed muscles, feeling heavy, clumsiness. It makes you feel very tranquil but does not seem to increase euphoria. If anyone a different experience with an opiate and a MILD amount of alcohol please let me know. In palliative care opiates are frequently dosed with benzodiazepines to potentiate the sedative and analgesic effects of the opiate. Alcohol while a bit less healthy than using a benzodiazepine, has a similar effect on the nervous system and is easily obtainable. You could achieve a similar effect by starting with 5mg of valium, but benzodiazepines generally take longer to take effect than alcohol and you must wait until each benzo is at peak effect before even considering taking another dose. It should also be noted that alcohol and benzodiazepines can impair judgment. You should be very careful if you feel either are impairing your judgment or inhibitions while on opiates because this could lead to you making unsafe decisions. Re: How to potentiate opiates using 1-3 beers
Very good post, thank you! SWIM was just thinking about this today. Does anyone else have any experience with this? SWIM had planned to mix 20mg oxycodone(SWIM has no tolerance) with one corona, which has a small alcoholic content SWIM believes, as he barely gets a buzz from two of them. Does SWIY think that the above combination would cause dangerous respiratory depression?

Re: How to potentiate opiates using 1-3 beers
Red Rock has mixed alcohol with opiates many times before. For a non opiate tolerant person, this is highly not recommended. Mixing 20mg of oxycodone with one beer shouldn't be a problem but Red Rock says to be very cautious using any more alcohol than that or if one uses more opiates than 20mg of oxycodone. For more ideas on ways to potentiate opiates, use the forum search engine as there are numerous threads and ideas out there.

Re: How to potentiate opiates using 1-3 beers
Swim's cat has done this before, but wants to stress the importance of knowing your tolerance and keeping dosing as low as possible.
However, the cat reports one slight difference. She claims that drinking when the opiates have peak effects aren't affected nearly as much as when the alcohol is consumed before opiate dosing at all. This latter combo has done well for the cat and finds the alcohol afterwords might squeeze a little more time outta the opiate, but not an increase in potency. |

Re: How to potentiate opiates using 1-3 beers
my brothers friend will usually enjoy some beers with his opiates/benzo mix. Its not good he knows! believe me. I tell him all the time.
lately he has been mixing amp/opies/benzos with alcy....very dangerous mix. he has a huge tolerance to all, and its the only reason he is even dumb (yes very dumb) enough to mix. but my brothers friend doesnt take large amounts of alcy. but the chem mix alone is bad enough. hes had years of experiance with these chems. so he has experiance and tolerance. but it doesnt mean something bad couldnt happen. just be safe and dont go over board. dont hesitate to call 911 if something bad like an od does happen, if swiyou got a script just say you were dumb and didnt know they interacted haha. |
