I had an interesting legal question that I have been wondering about for some time. Every now and then I see on some show like cops a situation where a police officer examines a persons eyes for evidence of intoxication. What I want to know is: Is a USA citizen legally obligated to cooperate with this.? Is it a search that can be refused? Or is it not a search cause the eyes are in "plain sight". Also a person is legally obligated to obey a police offers simple comands (ie: step out of the car; wait here; step away....etc). Would compliance, to the eye exam,be mandatory on the grounds of following simple comands? Any ideas? ![]() Edited by: Softrat |
