Drug info - does california poppy make you high??

hello swim want to know if california poppy make you high...because swim now is confuse a lot of peoples say that make you high and a lot say's no...what's the truth?

California Poppy does have psychoactive properties but it certainly won't get one "high" or give them a "buzz". It is a very mild sedative that helps promote relaxation and may also have some anxiolytic properties. It serves as a good sleep aid, and may help with stress and anxiety but it doesn't really have any recreational value. If one were expecting to get a buzz from this plant they would be expecting too much and most likely end up missing what it does have to offer.

Why not experiment for your self? Get some poppies, start small and consume larger doses until either you get bored, sick, or high. Do it over the course of a few weeks, make sure you don't build tolerance with day after day of experiments. Sometimes people will find a plant that most poopoo, will have wonderful results for them.

Cali does contain some alkaloids which are considered to be opiate alkaloids. HOWEVER, these alkaloids are only used to convert to other alkaloids in the medical industry (takes an expensive lab) or as a homeopathy relaxant.

Thebaine: Converted into other alkaloids in the medical industry.
Papaverine: considered to be a very mild relaxant, does have other medical values. (specific).

Thebaine has oripavine as a metabolite, which can be dangerous SWIM thinks.

Look up those 2 alkaloids in wiki, it will tell SWIY all that SWIY needs to know. Probably look up opium poppy and california poppy also to compare.

But the short answer is, no SWIY will not get high, sick perhaps, but not high.

There are alot of health food stores that sell Cali poppy tea.It is said to help with relaxation and sleep These places also sell dried poppy leaves that are used for smoking and making tea .In all actuality it is a placebo effect.There are VERY little/no alkaloids in th Cali poppy that will give you the results of the Papaver Somniferum.

swim read that some people had very good effects and some others nothing...
swim read on more than one place that they are hallucinogen...and one of the place is erowid...
