And due to your location giganteum Papaver somniferum might be easy to get.. Doesn't grow locally but an easy search.....

PAPAVER SOMNIFERUM!!
Research this poppy. It is the Opium poppy the only one that can create opium wothwhile. Now,there are however diffrent strains of this poppy-
Ex.Giganthums
Hens and Chicks
Hungarian Blue
Tazmanians,etc...Do some research there are more strains than I listed, but my point is that the PAPAVER SOMNIFERUM is the one SWIY needs to find.SWIY can also find it quite easily at your local grocery store.Good Luck

Re: what strain of poppies to use?

Just make sure when you go to the grocery you don't ask for anything other then "poppy seeds", same goes with the florist. Normal people would never use the scientific name looking for bagel seeds or an addition to a dried flower arrangement. Doing so will bring suspicion down upon you. Florists seem to have an idea of what is going on, so make sure you've got a cover story. When nobody was looking around they'd ask for dried seed pods for making jewelry, that they wanted to electroplate them and turn them into art. They knew their story and had a finished product to describe so when questioned they wouldn't stumble on words or look like they were making up a cover story.
