Why Are You Here?

Dave came to this site months ago to abuse drugs in a safer way. After reading the stories of hope and overcoming addiction,he saw this as a chance to change his lot in life.Dave came up with a plan(Thanks RS),and implemented it.Its now going on 7 weeks junk free for Dave. This forum can make or break you,but the good far out weighs the bad.

So,are the bulk our fellow swimmers here for help, information, curiosity how the other half lives?Post here with your true thoughts so we better understand how to help others better.

Please limit yourself to one thread, multiples have to be merged which cost time, money, etc

good thoughts

Re: Why Are You Here?

That's terrific. Swim also came to this site for a variety of reasons, one of which was learning how to improve his high. Swim has also seen a lot of threads on quitting, NA/AA, etc. Swim was kinda put off with these threads at first.

Swim and his wife are trying to get pregnant and really want to start a family. Swim has since stopped using most substances that he used to use and is now considering attempting to finally break the long-time (7 year?) opiate addiction. Swim has to admit that it was reading some of the threads on quitting that made swim start to consider this.

Re: Why Are You Here?

After a lifetime on and off substances......swim can't just turn his head away from all that time on substances.....and swim finds this a much better place to talk about it than say...well.........a non substance related fourm.
Sometimes it is cool to be someplace with the likeminded.....
Othertimes.....during rare moments of self reflection.......its not so cool......bige

Re: Why Are You Here?

SWIM was surfing the internet for nothing in particular, kind of unhappy with her pill use, but not intending to come off yet. She found this forum-mainly the addiction section-and began reading the stories. She decided she didn't want to live on the opiates any more, that she wanted to be free of the drugs again. So here she is, tapering and on this board every day.

To pass the time and perhaps learn valuable information as to not kill myself w/careless misinformed use.

Thanks DF!

Re: Why Are You Here?

Swim first started using this site to find out some answers to some questions swim had but since has been spending more and more time on here. Swim finds it a great place where you can talk to people that are going through the same thing as swim however there are not so much the negative effects you get from hanging about with all swims 'drug friends' especially if swim is trying to quit or cut down.

Swim has been taking all sorts of drugs since she was 14 and used to go from one to the other and use pretty intensly but it never really effected swims life too much untill swim found heroin. When swim moved to London for ironically a new start with university and a new job swim became addicted to both crack and heroin. Eventaully now I have managed to be clean from the crack for 4 months but still use the heroin daily. Swim has been considering going to a rehab clinic near her also to deal with some other issues like her sever depression while she is there but still is not sure if she is totally ready yet.

And congrats swirockmand nash 7 weeks is a really big achivement good for you!
