Dose - Not feeling 600mg much

Ok so In the past swim has CWE codiene about 600mg ... anyway didnt really feel much from it. Has anyone else had little effects from such high doses! BTW swim has no tolerance whatsoever and does this maybe once a year when bored.

maybe SWIY messed up the CWE... swiy should at least feel a bit itchy from that dose

You should just be grateful you're not dead. Next time try reading up about a substance before you start consuming random quantities of it. That's the dumbest thing I've read in a long time, which is really saying something.

Harsh. SWIM accepts it's probably true, but not everyone who loves the good cain is always 100% responsible. SWIM, for example, got drunk the other day and ate 500mg+ of codeine phosphate (medicinal - no CWE) in one batch. He didn't die and, for the record, got a half-buzz, but nothing major.

SWIM understands the point in this forum is harm reduction, but we also need to be realistic and surely, among virtual-friends, not quite so judgemental.

You must have a very high tolerance surely? When SWIM was much younger he was prescribed 30mg codeine pills, and drinking made him pass out and lose memory.

So it was (probably) true, but I was being unrealistic and judgemental? Somebody did something stupid and I said that was a stupid thing to do. I don't think that's overdoing it.

Taking any dose over ~400mg is stupid not only because it's dangerous as a one-off, out of the blue because you're "bored", but because it's also utterly pointless as that is the ceiling dose for codeine metabolisation.

Dunno. If SWIM was richer he might be able to get a tolerance, but he's not so he grabs what opiates he can when they're on offer. For what it's worth he's sitting here now necking them with cider - 300mg and rising. He's never had any problems with opiates, but DXM, now, that stuff took him to a world of pain...

SWIM will say, however, that if there is evidence that those kinds of doses can make people ill, please, PLEASE, listen to them. SWIM is simply reporting experiences of his own, which obviously can't be representative.

A platitude, maybe, but SWIM felt he ought to make his position clear.

Please if you are going to respond please be useful. The lethal dose of codiene for an average non tolerant adult is 800mg, I am not an average adult(75kg) im a muscular guy circa 100kg. So therefore 600mg is fine, and considering CWE doesnt get all the codiene.... but seriously i didnt feel much.

Assuming you did it properly I don't think it would have lost that much.

As for not feeling anything, you might be deficient in terms of the CYP2D6 enzyme (the one responsible for converting codeine into morphine), either genetically or because some medication you're taking interferes with it (or both).

^^likely swiy are part of the 7%of people who have a defficient enzym and can't convert codeine into morphine (in their bodies)... but next time read up on the doses and start lower to be on the safe side

Pretty hard to OD off of 600mgs codeine, Swim can take 900mgs and it will have little to no effect on him with his tol.

The most probable explanation would be that you messed up the CWE, and it was probably for the best.600mg is a really high dose and even though swim has been doing codeine for about a year now, he's never even touched that dose.
