Paraphernalia - How To Make A Crack Pipe

If you're curious about as to how a crack pipe is made I offer the following for your information:

Materials:
1.) Hollow glass tube (available at your local liquor store)
[Edited, September 10, 2005] Since I wrote this almost two years ago, state and federal law enforcement agencies have come down hard on places that sell glass tubes. You'll find that many liquor stores no longer stock them.

They DO, however, sell sell car deoderizers in long glass tube-like bottles, and although these bottles have a base to them and are NOT hollow, they can be easily MADE hollow and modified into a crack pipe.

a.) Buy the car deoderizer and take it home.
b.) Remove the cap and empty the contents from the bottle.
c.) Remove any tags or stickers from the glass.
d.) Rinse and dry the inside of the blass bottle.
e.) When the bottle has been thoroughly rinsed and dried, use a belt sander or a gringing wheel to grind off the base of the bottle. Once the base has been ground off, you have a hollow glass tube with with one thread end (where the cap used to be). The end that was ground has micro cracks that need to be sealed.
f.) A propane torch can be used to heat the ground edge of the glass until it is red hot and just begins to melt.
g.) Remove the torch when done, but give the heated area a blast of flame enery few seconds so the glass won't cool too quickly (otherwise it may shatter).

When the glass is completely cooled, you're done.

2.) Copper brillo pad. (also available at the local liquor store)
3.) Cigarette lighter
4.) Small chopstick, or section of rifle cleaning rod.

Function:
-The glass functions as the pipe.
-The copper brillo is the screen that holds and burns the crack and crack resins.
-The lighter is necessary to burn the initial gunk off the brillo/screen before use.
-The chopstick is used to push the brillo from one end of the pipe to the other. "Pushing" serves two functions: a.) it tightens up the screen so it won't slide back when a hit is inhaled and ... b.) it pushes the resins back up in the opposite direction. for a good crack-resin hit.

Application:
1.) Cut the brillo pad and pull off a sheet of copper mesh.
2.) Cut 3-4 squares from the copper mesh. Size each square to 1 1/4 inch (about 3cm).
3.) Place each square on the end of a metal fork and hold the lighter underneath it to burn away the crap on the copper. The mesh must be burned until red hot. It heats and cools quickly. Once cool, it will change color to various shades of gray.
4.) Roll the mesh into a thin elongated wad that will fit into the glass.
5.) Slide the mesh screen into the glass and use chopstick to compress it at either end of the glass. It is now a functional screen.
6.) Push the screen back down 1/4 inch (5mm) to make ready to load a rock.
The crack pipe is now ready for action.

You can substitute any small steel shaft for a push stick. Steel actually works better because you can scrape the resins off of the steel shaft, and use the steel shaft to scrape resins from the edge of the glass. A small section of wire hanger will suffice.

I have to disagree.



For crack, in just about any kind of pipe, you'ld need a screen to get a good hit. Holes in a soda can don't work well for crack because there's no screen and smokeable resins become difficult to access as they stick to the inside wall of the can.



A simple sheet of aluminum foil, & a foil straw to inhale vapors works far better. Place a rock on the foil sheet and burn it from below while chasing the smoke with the straw.

Mainly, this contraption is used for smokin meth, but SWIM has found that it is most excellent for his new-found lethal pleasure as well....

Take a light bulb (any normal sized lightbulb will work..), remove the copper (?) ring thing on the very end of it with a knife. Then use that same (preferably small) knife, and jab it in between the two big black chunks of plastic.. chucks should break off fairly easily, when you can fit knive in insert and rotate to get it all out.

Now I take a long, thin screwdriver, and break the layer of glass that is seperating you from the guts of your bulb. Insert into bulb and just kind of move back and forth..you'll understand fine after you get to this stage. To break the glass tubing, take your screwdriver and get the tube between it and the outer edge of your bulb; apply pressure. (Be sure that you are cupping the entire side of the bulb you are applying pressuer onto with the palm of your hand...do not hold by the end or it will break, and you will have to go without yet another light in your probably already dimmly-lit home).

Now, its a simple matter of removing the pesky "soft" white coating. This usually takes the most amount of time by people I see do it, but only because they wash it out with water. Check it.

Pour enough salt in the lightbulb to fill it a bit under 1/4 full...cover end with thumb, shake a few times, DONE.
When pouring the salt out, swirl the bulb in a spiral fashion, so the salt will kind of clean up after itself, removing most of the salt residue. (NOTE: You can wash with water now to remove that salt residue if you really want too...however it takes a while to dry, so if you're as impatient as I usually am, fuck it. The salt doesn't hurt anything..just makes it slightly harder to see in. After using for a little while most of the salt residue will be gone (with no effect on taste).

They're disposable, easy-to-make-able, and oh so damn fun to get huge rips off....if you're not familiar with shards, to get a big hit you'll want to rotate the lighter in small circles while rotating the bulb left to right...and make sure you inhale as slooooooooooooowly as you can.

instead of all that all you nead is a empty plastic bottle about 500 ml or smaller some tin foil and a straw. half fill bottle with water burn hole big enough to fit straw inside on the side a little above the water line. if its lose cover side with gum. place tin foil on top make sucure by bending sides over top of bottle. put some small holes in top and cover with cigaret ash. blaze away. or failing that just use a coke can. cheap and easy and disposable.

ewwwwwwwww...burnt plastic is gross. Used to make lots of makeshift bongs and straws and plastic bottles are not prime matrial. Gets the job done but id just spend 30 on a freebase stylebong. Can be used for anything but weed for the most part.

Here's another method:

Buy a small glass tube of car deodorant. Empty the
contents and remove any labels stuck to the glass.

The top has a threaded glass lip.
The bottom is capped with glass seal.

The empty container should look like a small test
tube, but with a flat base instead of the rounded
bottom you usually see on a test tube.

The bottom can be easily removed, leaving you with
a hollow glass tube.

To remove the bottom you will need access to a belt
sander. Use an 80 grit belt and sand away at the rim
around the bottom.

The flat piece of glass at the bottom will erode away
as you sand it, leaving you with a rough glass edge
around the rim of the tube.

To smooth the edge, you can use a propane torch
and apply it to the rough edge that you just sanded.

Heat the glass until it turns a soft red color and
begins to molt, then remove the torch and re-apply
heat intermittently so as not to let the glass cool too
quickly.

When the glass is completely cooled you will have a
nice soft edge, and a clean hollow glass tube.

Ithink you will lose to much coke if you do that, the coke can't move and if you would put a rock in it it would just burn away,maybe if you put everythime just a very litte bit in it and every time you smoked that bit put again a little in it,but not a whole rock.

Some places it is hard to find those glass tubes and they tend to crack and break when heated to much.swims preference is a metal tire gauge tube. They can be found at most convenience stores in the automotive section .


Break off the head of the tire gauge and use a piece of Brillo and a pusher to clean out . Some tire gauges have a light film of oil inside for lubrication and makes the dope tast like shit.than add the Brillo you're going to smoke of but don't forget to burn it first I hear that copper coating is bad for you .

That is an excellent alternative, although metal tends
to conduct heat much more than glass. Still, good
though!

It's easy to temper a glass tube just by heating it up
with a propane torch.

Most people prefer glass because it's easy to see the resin
clumps inside the tube.

ive never tried to temper one of those glass tubes I wonder if it holds up as good as pyrex after being tempered.


a pyrextube would be my first choice


second choice would be a tire gage. if conducting to much heat is a problem you can always wrap tape around the end that you put in your mouth.


i have found that smoking off a soda or beer can with ashes works well if done right. A bigadvantage when smoking off a can is that you canputa hit on it as big as you want as opposed to only what can fit inside the tip of a tube

macguyver can make a good pipe using shoe laces and a
piece of gum.

What i used to do is go to a head shop and find the metal
tubing used in cheap bongs. It is already shaped and you can
put screens on both ends. aluminum so use something soft to
get the resin out.

Here's SWIM's recipe for a serious pinch (takes some practice). He delivered me this info, so if you have any probs with it post and I'll let him know your objections. Yeah, he knows foil can be toxic so he says only do this if you're otherwise stuck.

Ingredients:

* One pen or pencil
* Some aluminum foil
* A foot or two of medium gauge copper wire
* Pair of scissors

(1) Cut the foil so it's about 1 foot by 6 inches. (Optional: Put a little oil of any kind on the pen/pencil). Wrap foil around the pen/pencil medium-tight 10 to 15 turns.
(2) Slide the foil off the pen/pencil and cut the crumpled end off. Open the crumpled end. You now have a foil tube open at both ends.
(3) Strip some of the copper wire, tangle/crumple together and make a screen with it. Cook with lighter until black. Stick it in one end of the foil tube until it's about 1/8" down.
(4) Enjoy whatever you're gonna do with this makeshift device.
(5) Unroll the foil tube all the way, discard the copper screen, and cut off any foil you see resins coated on.
(6) Re-roll the remaining foil around the pen/pencil and make sure both ends are open.
(7) Cut off pieces of the resinated foil, crumple a bit, stick in the end of the foil tube and hit with a lighter...
(8) Repeat (7) until all gone. Throw all this crap away (except scissors and pen).

P.S. SWIM thinks crack smoking is BAD, and many or most people who do it end up junkies.Edited by: Nicaine

Check this out. Get yourself a mini liquor bottle.Nowempty contents of bottle how ever you see fit (drink it )wash out with water until no more alcohol smell. next heat up bottom of bottle with a bic lighter make sure it is good and dry or it will crack up the side. Then with a screwdriver or something like that hit the bottom quick sharp hit 1 time. If nothing happens it's not hot enough.continue to heat. If its hot enough a small hole will pop out of bottom. Once you have the hole in the bottleDO NOTrinse it until it cools. Once it cools rinse out good, make sure there is no glass particles left.Now you need to put some Brillo in the neck (Thetop)And your off. You can hit it just like that or you can add a piece of hose to the bottom hole.

would a glass chelum typically sold for smoking tobaco, and most use it to smoke weed out of work?? its basically a glass tube which you speak of only made with a bowl on the end. or would you still recommend a brillo pad behind the bowl as the hole may let shit fall through???

Check this, Take a 375ml liquor bottle (or one around that size)drill a small hole in the side(glass drill bits from wal-mart) for small rubber tubing to fit in.Put in the tubing(long as you want)then put brillo in top .Instant free standing pipe!!!!!!!You can also drill a thump(carb)if you want.

Put a fair sized glug of acetone in
your pipe, seal all ends with your fingers, (if
possible!) shake the hell out of it for a minute or so,
then dump it all out onto a mirror/piece of glass.
Now, set fire to the pile, or just wait for it to evap. (it
wont take long) You now have a sparkling clean
pipe... And, every last bit of resin in a nice dry pile on
your mirror!

The resins can be softened by lightly heating the
outside of the pipe in the area where it has
accumulated; the resin should be melted just
enough to break the bond that binds it to the pipe,
but not back into full liquid form.

When the outside of the pipe is heated enough to
break the resin bond, the screen can be pushed to
the opposite end of the pipe with the resins at the
front of the screen.

During the push, care should be taken not to tilt the
pipe or the resins may fall out and scatter.

After the push, new resin hit can be drawn from the
pipe.

and stealing to make instant pipes. break off 1 section of a
telescopic car antena. get the kind thats about 1/2 cm big.
use scisors and cut some chord of an electrical appliance, you want the
copper wires. jam the coper wires into the tube, and load crack
on. viola instant tooter.
and you even got to shread the hood up doin it! crack and cocaine
are vial drugs in my honest oppinion. the shit ive seen people do
for this high is more than i would do for any high. and the
comedowns make you feel like a gem. wheres the 2c drugs at!!!!!
