Legitimate methadone addiction?

SWIM's experience addiction to benzos in the past, and now he may be stuck on opiates and is considering going to a methadone clinic.

For the past week or so SWIM was snorting and eating morphine sulfate and then found some methadone (his drug of choice). He got ten 10mg pills and took 10mg for about 3 days, then 15 mg for 2 days, and now he's trying to just have 5 mg a day (this is day 1). It seems like the perfect amount since when he took 10 - 15mg he would get agitated easily and/or experience physical sickness (e.g. - headaches, nausea, lightheadedness, etc.). For the past couple days, instead of just popping a pill when he wakes up, SWIM waited as long as possible before his craving set in to take some, which happened within 2 hours of waking up. I don't know if going cold turkey when I run out in about 3 days will be difficult or not, so I'm wondering if SWIM went to a methadone clinic they would consider his use enough of an addiction to get 5mg prescribed to him daily.

What do ya'll think?

Actually, a few hours later SWIM began feeling uncomfortable and took another 5mg in order to feel better

methadone doesnt have a 24hr time-release... methadone clinic doesnt even give u one pill a day, they give u three (one for each meal)

how have u been living on one pill a day? if u think thats helping with withdrawal then its all in ur head my friend

Just a little side note here for you as well...

Just be extremely careful of becoming physically dependent
on the methadone. If you think kicking from opiates is bad,
you haven't felt poop yet, as methadone will most definitely
kick your butt in the dirt for at least a week, minimum.

Swim once went to a methadone clinic to get off of H, and
after spending a month on methadone, ended up kicking cold
in a forest about 10 miles from nowhere for a week. It was
the worst experience swim has ever felt in his/her life, when
kicking, period.

Maybe it will be different for you, and others, but that crap is
way, way off swims list for "helping" meds. It's downright
dangerous as far as swims concerned.

If you're feeling that strong on what little you're doing, please
do not increase your dose, you could really be heading down
the wrong path in a hurry.
