Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
SWIM is getting about 40 pods for SWIM and SWIMs pet eel. SWIM is going to cut off the tops, take out the seeds, grind up the heads, and let the ground pits of poppy head sit in semi-boiling water, and stir around, maybe strain the bits through a strainer, or colander, into a different pot and continue to boil? SWIM is unsure of roughly how many SWIM should use per person, and how long they should sit in the semi-boiling water, stirring them around. The whole process is still shaky and new to SWIM. SWIM has a moderate tolerance, but her pet eel has none. They are looking to get moderate-intense effects. Thanks for any help!

Re: Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
For best results hypothetical scientists use hot water alone, not even letting the water bubble.

Re: Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
Do any SWIYS know if those hypothetical scientists would add lemon juice or anything of the sort? Also have any hypothetical scientists theorized on if this poppy tea will store for a day or two if SWIM or her pet don't drink it all in one night?

Re: Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
Forget about adding anything to start with, like lemon juice. It will keep in the fridge. Swim would advise to start with small doses, wait a half hour and see how that is. Take it easy. Swiy doesn't want to get sick.

Re: Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
Cool, does SWIY filter out all the little grains of poppy, or just the bigger ones? SWIM has heard conflicting reviews, but thinks she will just filter it through once or twice. How long should SWIM let the grains sit in the hot water before filtering it, stirring it intermittently?

Re: Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
This is like making a pot of mint tea. Boil water, add herbs, wait 20 min- 1/2 hour, strain. Don't boil and stir. You don't need to strain all the little stuff out. A regular fine mesh hand strainer works fine. Hey, take it easy, ok?

Re: Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
For best results, one should use a coffee grinder - around $20 at a local grocery store. In that case there would be no bigger grains it would all be pretty much powdered.
As far as knowing how much to dose with, Scales would definitely be a great help this way one could weigh out the powder after it's been ground up. 7-10 Grams would be ideal to start with. This SWIM believes is about 2-3 golf ball sized pods. Last edited by PsychoActivist; 15-01-2009 at 22:56. |

Re: Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
Okay well SWIM just finished her first extraction. She put 20 pods in the brew ground up, for her and her pet eel. About 6 and a half cups of water was used, and about a half a lime. She knows this is a lot for only 2, but she didn't intend to drink it all at once, just slowly and waiting for symptoms then she would save the rest. The pods were a little smaller than tennis balls. She drank about 1/4 of it and feels it pretty strong. Her stomach is a little upset and she wishes she used less water, but she feels the strong effects of it, at first not as strong as she expected but now she has the typical nod and warmth she associates with opium. Overall it's a great experience very worth it, thanks for all the help!

Re: Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
A fair warning: SWIPA got hooked on these real quick. He's had a daily habit for about 4 or 5 months now. When he started off it was just gonna be on weekends and that only lasted two weeks. It wasn't long until he was using them daily. Also, tolerance builds up amazingly fast. The amount SWIPA has to use now to get any euphoria between 40-80 grams. It's ridiculous. He has about $120 a week habit and only every actually gets "high" on the weekends. The rest of the week he just uses enough to keep withdrawals at bay. This is only cause he can't afford anything more in the way of $$$$.
Just be careful. Not trying to preach it's just that SWIPA is still fairly new to this addiction and is still kind of in shock at quick it all happened. |

Re: Making SWIMS first poppy pod tea.
Ginger in the brew will help with the nausea.
Remember that when it comes to PST, there is no standardization of doses. Nobody only uses one brand of seeds, and the strength of each batch can fluctuate wildly. Some times nobody will drink a whole half pound worth of tea, then find that the next batch makes 5 doses with a half pound. ALWAYS drink a bit at a time, after a few times of doing so, you start to get a handle on gauging the strength. Nobody personally finds the greatest difficulty is remembering that it takes a few hours to peak on opiates and what is a low dose for the first hour can get considerably stronger by hour three or four. Nobody prefers using nearly icy water for their extraction, 2 quarts to a half pound of seeds, juice of two limes, ginger, let steep for 20 minutes or so (too long or two hot makes the oils come out, they seem to make nobody sick) Potter added 44 Minutes and 36 Seconds later...
