Combinations - Oxycodone + 5-htp

5-HTP doesn't cause you to release more serotonin. It's a serotonin precurser, which means that your body turns it into serotonin.

Opiates like oxycodone don't release serotonin. The way they work is attaching to opiate receptors and blocking pain signals, which is why drugs like oxycodone and oxycontin are prescribed to people suffering from pain.

They're safe to take together because they have completely different ways of working, and don't affect the same parts of your brain. The only effect you will get from the 5-HTP is a slight mood lift if you're depressed.

Yeah SWIM found that also, just wanted a second opinion. If no one contradicts the above info then SWIM will post again in a few days with the results.

For anyone interested, SWIM did try a combination of 100mg 5-HTP and 20mg oxycodone. SWIM took the 5-htp around 12 noon and the oxycodone around 8 hours later. SWIM didnt notice much difference in the effects, the peak was perhaps a bit more intense and euphoric than before but thats about it. However, that night SWIM did have a lucid dream for the first time. SWIM has used 5-htp in the past to make him dreams more vivid, and oxycodone also has the same effect for SWIM.

Well, swim has no experience with pure 5-HTP but has taken black seeds (also known as black cummin which contain a subtance that your liver metabolises into 5-HTP) in combination with codeine and found that it greatly potentiated the effects.Swim is really interested in this and asks SWITHomasRM to try it again but closer toghether this time.

Well, I'm guessing taking the 5-htp 2 hours before the oxy would be good enough.That way you ensure that it has started working but that at the same time it's still potent.And try to take an extra dose.
