Combinations - Selegiline/Deprenyl and MDMA,

I have been taking 5mg deprenyl (tablet form) for the last two weeks and would like to know if i can take MDMA at an approximate dosage of 150 -200mg. Also is there any other factors i should consider as a result of taking Deprenyl with MDMA. Really would apprecaite a response.

Deprenyl is a MAOI-B, so... SWIM would be wary!

but enhances and prolongs the anti-Parkinson effects of levodopa sounds like a reuptake block to me (meaning higher stimulation) SWIM would recommend extra caution and definitely a test run of half MDMA dose... If you want to finish your mdma dose in the same night if everything goes ok, SWIM recommends taking the smaller amount, then waiting at least 3 hours to judge effects. Be careful of heart affecting drugs (including cannabis, alcohol, cigarettes).

SWIM would really advise you to be careful, pharms like deprenyl can do strange little things, and not always the same for everyone. SWIM would like to point out that based on the effects, deprenyl does have the premise of positive activity but he would not rush it or go it blind.

<<< This swimmer used Harmaline ( A reversible MAOI-A ) in conjunction with various medicines including amphetamine and St. John's Wort. The combo high is... different, and its rush can be dangerous. SWIM is liberal with his drug advice, but he only mixed the two together once. Once was enough for SWIM to realize there are too many interactions between medications to recreationally attempt St. John's Wort and Syrian Rue Seed together + SWIM did not like the feel of the combination high. MAOI is a scary ingredient to any equation.

I hope you can take something from my ramblings :/ I do not have experience with a MAOI-B and I have no idea the difference in amphetamine's stimulation of A vs B is.

Thanks for your reply. To be absolutly safe and avoid any drug interactions with selegiline , when could swim take mdma?

With chronic use the half-life is noted at being around 10 hours. So atleast a few days should be given in between the last dose to avoid any possible MAOI effects.

EDIT: this should really be in the MDMA forum even though selegeline could be considered an amphetamine pro drug. Also this combination has been used to potentiate MDMA in some cases so there probably won't be a catastrophic occurrance if one were to take a dose of selegeline in the morning then at the cluib that night take MDMA. It may be wise however to reduce the amount of MDMA used. The normal dose for optimal effects is about 125mg. Atleast reduce the amount to 125 mg especially since the selegeline will make the MDMA STRONGER.
