Can you take acetaminophen and ibuprofen together in a day?

Swim has took 3gs of apap today and now has 10/200 with ibuprofen. Does this count toward the apap or is it totally different and swim can take the max amount of ibuprofen in 24 hours or does it add in with the apap.

an can ibuprofen be done with a CWE?

Re: Can you take acetaminophen and ibuprofen together in a day?

The short answer is yes.

Acetaminophen is metabolized by the liver and ibuprofen is metabolized by the kidneys. Keep in mind that, even at therapeutic doses, ibuprofen has some pretty odd (and even scary) side effects: (mild) internal bleeding, increased blood pressure, headaches, etc.

Ibuprofen can be CWEd out of a pill. The main problem is that it appears that the fillers used in opiate/ibuprofen combinations compete with the opiate for access to the water.

Re: Can you take acetaminophen and ibuprofen together in a day?

Yes, as pixplzthx said Paracetamol/acetaminophen is excreted through the liver while most (or all as far as I know) NSAIDs (diclofenac,Iboprofen, indomethacin etc...) are excreted through the kidneys and are ofter used toghether with Para/Aceta for greater analgesia.

NSAIDs, however, are really harmful to the kidneys and stomach and could cause ulcers which is why they should be taken toghether with an antacid when used for long periods of time.So I guess you could use them this time but if you ever have a choice you should use Paracetamol/Acetaminophen every time.

Good luck, Robo
