Binaural Beats enhance smoking?
I've heard a lot about binaural beats causing the effects of drug use when listened to for prolonged periods. It sounded too far-fetched for me to try, but recently I've heard, more believably that binaural beats enhance cannabis smoking.
Anyone know if this is true? |

Re: Binaural Beats enhance smoking?
Listening to binaural sound combined with deprivation of the other senses can apparently allow for what seem like outer-body experiences. SWIM sometimes gets this lying stoned in bed, even if he isn't listening to anything. I suppose adding binaural audio into the mix could enhance this sensation.

Re: Binaural Beats enhance smoking?
Music definitely has an impact on neurotransmitter levels in the brain. There was an article published recently about an experiment that showed lab mice to have higher levels of activity in the brain when given MDMA and made to listen to trance/house/techno music, vs. mice that were given the same amount of MDMA and left in silence.
Unfortunately I can't find it in my browser's history... which is pissing me off because it's a really interesting little article. :P But impact of music on neurotransmitter levels (while in a sober state), is definitely a proven fact. Back in the 90s there were several major studies based on classical music and if listening to it increases academic performance in humans. The results showed it substantially increases feelings of motivation, relaxation, creativity, concentration, as well as sometimes raising IQ level (with regular listening). And from common knowledge, we know that listening to high-energy music while exercising can increase stamina and make the work-out more enjoyable. It's safe to assume that certain tunes, melodies, and harmonies may enhance the euphoric feelings of a drug-induced state, considering they have such a profound effect on the human mind when sober. So don't discredit what you've heard about binaural beats, there may be some truth to it. Although, from what my friend SWIM tells me, nothing enhances a cannabis experience more than American Psychedelic music from the 60s-70s (such as Jefferson Airplane). When he gets really baked, this type of music puts him in an almost hypnotic trance, feeling nothing but pure relaxation. |

Re: Binaural Beats enhance smoking?
There's definitely something to using binaural beats.. not necessarily something that has an effect specifically with smoking up, but an effect that'll find synergy with any sensory-altering experience.
That said, swim has tried smoking up and using the Brain Machine (just search to find reference), which produces binaural beats in combination with synchronized strobing LED lights. The effect was more pronounced than when sober. swim feels that it's an enjoyable experience worth repeating. A sensation of relaxation and CEVs typically result. |

Re: Binaural Beats enhance smoking?
I have a friend who has access to both weed and a binural beat generator.
I shall ask him to give this a try sometime, and report back with what he says |

Re: Binaural Beats enhance smoking?
If you are only interested in the audio experience, you can try it for yourself easily by downloading one of the many free binaural beat clips off the web.

Re: Binaural Beats enhance smoking?
yes it will enhance a stoners experience if he can concoiusly enter completely into delta without losing concoiusness as the stoned sensation is a result of entering slower brain waves already (which is the point of meditation fyi and the poinnt of bineural beats) . if you cant handle delta, youll just pass out like you would if you smoked too much.

Re: Binaural Beats enhance smoking?
Give Hemi-Sync a try. Worked for SWIM, gave SWIM an OBE and a desire to never ever try it again. MetaMusic is much much better and relaxing.
