Effects - Can anyone compare Hydromorphone to Heroin for me?

Long story short, Heroin is the only thing that makes SWIM able to function in life. Unfortunately the Heroin lifestyle is also too unstable to be functional if you don't have loads of money. SWIM is looking for ways to be able to live, and thinks possibly from descriptions he has read, that maybe somehow getting an RX for this might do the same thing for him as Heroin and enable him to go back to work.

SWIM was wondering how people would compare IV Hydromorphone (specifically IV-able Dilaudid) to IV Heroin in terms of effects.

SWIM was also wondering if anyone could give a comparison of dosage. Take a hardcore addict with a gram a day addiction, for instance; how much hydromorphone would be the equivalent of a "good" shot of heroin for an experienced high tolerance addict?

Dilaudid, to SWIM, is the only drug in the world as good as heroin. It feels different, but very, very good. It also only lasts a few hours, so a dilly habit can quickly ramp up into an every 2 hours thing. SWIM has a soft spot in his heart for these, and gets the 8mg pills whenever he can. If you like dope, you'll probably like dilaudid and consider it second best overall and perhaps even first in terms of the feeling.

As far as dosing goes, SWIMs been up to 5 of the 8mg pills at a time and doing this 4-5 times a day. SWIM can't feel one at all, though it takes the edge off dopesickness, and 2 is barely noticable. 4 is a good dose to try for an experienced doper with a heavy habit, but caution makes SWIM say that 2 is where to start and adjust up or down as necessary. NBD if SWIY has to fix up a second time right after the first isn't doing the trick, but its hard to get back from too much. A rough equivelent from the 1970s was that one 4mg D = one baloon of street dope in Washington DC. Dope is better now, of course.

Also, SWIM's known folks who are allergic to dillies but not to dope or morphine or any of the related substances. Odds are against this in any specific case, but it's been known to happen - generally hives up and down the shot arm, benadryl takes care of it in most cases.

the 8mg generic ones are very easy for swim to get and he does frequently second only to heroin
as for the dose i would say start at 3 and work up as necessary
if swiyou can get a rx for this i think it would help swiyou out greatly
good luck though its not easy to get unless you have a chronic pain condition

SWIM didn't know this, but both his brother and his friend have shot Dilaudid.

They both shot 3 8mg pills. They said it sucked and wasn't anywhere near as good as heroin.

All such evaluations are eventually subjective, so all SWIM can say is to try it and see if SWIyou like it. If SWIyou don't get a powerful, warm, glowing rush, SWIY either didn't do enough or the substance is suspect.

D definitely does not feel the same as heroin, but most folks feel it is at least as pleasurable for as long as it lasts.
