If animals ate cannabis in nature...

SWIM was burning this new good shit. After a bowl SWIM eats some grapes and thinks to it. The THC that gets people high is supposed to be harmful to animals. So in nature a bear would come along, it would eat the dank, and get the munchies. Bears already eat their weight in salmon a day. Give that bear the munchies and the stream would have nothing! But the harmful side effects of the THC on his Ursus arctos horribliss animal body would be similar to a hang over, so he would wait a while before eating a bit more. Think if fucking goats ate weed! They would clear land for more bud to grow! Green was a baller back in nature! That's basically all.

Re: If animals ate cannabis in nature...

To the best of my knowledge, marijuana isn't active (or atleast barely active) in it's normal state. I believe the plant contains something called THCA (someone correct me if I'm mistaken), which gets converted into THC upon heating.

When pot brownies are made, they're always baked/heated anyway. This is why it's possible for people to eat them. Eating the raw bud shouldn't produce any effects.

Right you're.... the plant itself would have little if any at all effects. Deers are a very big nuisance for this as Swim knows of several crops that have been completely destroyed. It's a complete waste as i doubt they're "getting lifted" from consuming it. Before Swim knew that deer ravaged the plant, he always swore they were attracted to the smell of the smoke too. Swim would be on his deck smoking a joint and have deer come out of nowhere and chill in the yard.

maybe they aren't as dumb as people think lol

Plus the weed people smoke has been selectively bred for hundreds of years to increase the cannabinoid content. And will have been grown in such a way as to enhance this further. I very much doubt some wild cannabis plant you found growing somewhere would be strong enough to get high from. I mean a properly wild strain, not some cultivar that's got loose.

This is news to SWIM, SWIM didn't think THC was any more harmful to animals than it was to humans, any sources on that?

Re: If animals ate cannabis in nature...

pretty sure most animals don't have cannabanoid receptors, but maybe squirells or something might. But for the most part, animals eat it for the taste. Damn, swim would too if swim didn't have thumbs to roll!

Fresh cannabis is high in cannabergerol, this is the precursor to THC and other cannabinoids. Once cured it becomes THC, CBD etc and that's why fresh cannabis is so shit.

I believe all mammals have Cannabinoid receptors. I can find a source if you want, not that I can be assed I've just woken up, maybe later, I did start a thread on weather drugs had similar chemical interactions with the animals brains as the humans.
