Dose - *low* dose oral DMT

For whatever reason, when people take DMT, they tend to take a lot. It makes it difficult to tell what a "low" dose of DMT is. I suspect that they typically mean "low compared to most DMT trips" rather than "low compared to most trips".

I've read that >3 grams of mushrooms and sub breakthrough DMT doses give remarkably similar results. Does this similarity hold when scaled down to the ~0.5g of mushroom level? Does anyone actually experiment with doses this low? If so, is it enjoyable?

If the dosage/effect curve is the same for DMT as it is for mushrooms (is it?), it looks like SWIM should aim for only ~5mg of DMT. I can't find any trip reports dealing with such small numbers, but I don't know if thats because the dose curve looks different for DMT, or if everyone is missing out on the low doses.

SWIM has had a great time taking mushrooms in doses between 0.6 and 0.8g, which he considers to be in the ++ range. If taken orally with an MAOI, what dose of DMT should be comparable to this in terms of intensity? How qualitatively different would the trips be?

IDK waht i would compare that too as my monkey has never bothered with alow DMT dose, he used tyo use low dose's of shrooms daily as a medication of sorts(think i even have a thread on it somehwere) but my homeboy says that he would say yopo might be good if one wants a light DMT experiance.

SWIM has never tried DMT, but SWIMs reasoning with mushrooms is thus: one's supply lasts longer, one can take it more often (even though SWIMS *loved* his strong LSD trip, he didn't want to do it again any time soon), and most importantly- it's still wonderful!

AFAIK, traditional ayahuasca is fairly low on the DMT. ~30mg.

I've read that too, but I would expect that it is still more intense than 0.6g of mushrooms, which is the dosage range SWIM is interested in (but by how much?).

Experimentation would be needed a threshold inhibiting dose of harmala and various low amounts of DMT. I doubt these experiments will have already been conducted by (people who aren't) members of this forum; people tend to go all out with ayahuasca. Effects of low dose serotonergic psychedelics tend to be basically the same, other than duration, so I expect the main differences with DMT would come from the harmala alkaloids. Probably best to stick to mushrooms and LSD for these purposes, less hassle. Seems pointless, to me, to have to observe a MAOI diet for ~24 hours just for this.
