Purification of Automotive Grade Nitrous Oxide

I love n2o, but I really don't like bothering with whippets. The
price for a 24 pack is XXXX$. I used to be able to buy them for
about 50 cents each at a food supply store but they won't sell to
anyone without a business anymore. I really want to get a nitrous
tank because it is less of a hassle and will probably save me money
too. I dont think I will be able to get medical grade nitrous so
my only option will be to purify auto grade nitrous. I
would appreciate any information I can get on the purification of auto
grade nitrous. A picture of someones setup would also be
good. Also, how hard would it be to obtain medical grade?
This seems like the best option, but also the most impractical.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've been using the method found in another topic
to purify my auto grade nitrous. Been doing it for a couple weeks now
and it works great. You will be able to tell if you are doing it
correctly or not simply by the taste. The sulphur that is in it
originally has a very nasty, distinctive taste so make sure you get all
of that out.

Are you sure there are no negative side effects from this method.
Also, do you have any pictures because I have read this mehod but I
don't want to atempt it w/o some sort of diagram. Approximately
how many uses do you get out of one tank?

Sometimes you can get food grade nitrous (just as good as medical) from supply places if you create a fake leader head of a catering company and claim you're using the nitrous for large amounts of whipped cream. That or using the nitrous to cool ice cream (thats also another legitimate use).
