Dried Peruvian Torch - Trichocereus peruvianus
I was wondering if Dried Peruvian Torch - Trichocereus peruvianus was a form of mescaline or peyote or if it was just a lamer/cheaper/weaker version of peyote? Would anyone recommend using it if SWIY was looking for a psychedelic high, is it worth it? Feedback on experience would be nice.

Re: Dried Peruvian Torch - Trichocereus peruvianus
A quick google shows it's another type of cactus containing mescaline.

I would also like to know more about SWIY's experiences of peruvian torch. It is sold in some head shops next to San Pedro Cacti.

Supposedly it has a higher alkaloid content than San Pedro, but all the tests on cactus are pretty useless, they all contradict each other.
SWIM hasn't really noticed a difference between the two, beyond San Pedro being slightly cheaper. |

Re: Dried Peruvian Torch - Trichocereus peruvianus
Peyote has over 50 alkaloids that have many other effects than just a psychedelic trip, like mescaline, or trichocereus cacti, which have only a few other alkaloids that may potentiate the mescaline trip.. Plenty of people have used san pedro and peruvian torch (both Trichocereus cacti) for a mescaline trip.. There are various trip reports and extraction techniques all over the internet and posted on this forum for extracting the mescaline or making a tea. Some crush it up and put it in capsules to swallow, but it takes quite a few capsules for a full dose. The allkaloid content varies widely from plant to plant, so a dose of one cactus may give almost no effects, while the same dose from another batch may send one to the moon.. Best to find those with experience with a certain source, their method of ingestion, and then roughly follow their guidelines.. Of the dried green torch chips that SWIM gets, between 50-100gms of powder is a good to strong dose, but SWIM prefers to extract the mescaline for accurate dosing and to avoid the terrible taste of tea or powder. Also, he extracts to avoid swallowing a bunch of pills, as well as most of the nausea...

Re: Dried Peruvian Torch - Trichocereus peruvianus
There are literally hundreds of threads discussing the use of this cactus. Please avail yourself of the Search engine and find them.
The fact that you don't know whether this cactus contains mescaline says that you have not even done the simplest of research. Search first, then post threads. You seem to be confused about the terms peyote and mescaline. Peyote is peyote - there are no other "versions." Mescaline is the principal active alkaloid which these different cacti contain. Welcome to the forums, best of luck! |
