Let me start off by saying this book is not a quick read and definitely not for the close-minded individuals of the world. The book
is however over 300 pages of thought provoking, intriguing and flat out crazy ideas.
The first few chapters of the book gives a basic explanation of quantum physics and the run-way which got them in the air, dating to the early 1900's. When I say basic, I mean
basic. They don't touch completely on all the points, but it makes it easy for the 'average' citizen to pick up and wrap their brain around.
For the sake of review, I will explain where I came from before reading this book. I had no
real idea about the space-time continuum, the theory of relativity and the work of Einstein. To be honest, I only had a very general, dumbed down understanding of science to date. This book now has me speaking about electrons, holomovements and neuroscience.
Anyways, as the book progresses you learn the background of physicist David Bohm and neurophysiologist Karl Pribram. Along with it, you get taught their theories and ideas. What I liked about the book was it didn't appear biased. It flat out will state if an idea is far-fetched, and also name off scientists who rebuttled and disputed the works.
I don't want to go into great detail of the holographic universe itself because 300 pages of trial and error, scientific tests and research does a lot better job at it then my little book review ever could. In very simple broad terms, the world/universe as we know it, is no more than a hologram. Any small piece of matter contains all the rest and all of history.
If this blows your mind, or doesn't make sense at all, than its all the better reason to go out and get this book. They break down each point extremely clear and often have pictures to further help you grasp the concept at hand.
In the later chapters of the book, it gets quite interesting because they apply the holographic theory to LSD experiences and what they mean, to out-of-body experiences, near-death, UFO abductions to psychic abilities. I believe this book would be a good addition to any DF members library because just browsing the posts and blogs, you can see these are all very key points of interest.
All in all, I give this book a 4/5 because a 5/5 in my eyes would be a constant page turner where you NEED to know what happens next. This book you WANT to know what happens next because you gain a greater understanding with each page.
My review doesn't really do this book justice, so check it out for yourself and post here letting me know what you think.
