Side effects - Horrible stomach pains from 15mg Morphine sulfate

Ugh...

So SWIM took 15mg morphine sulfate last night for the first time. He's tried oxies, vicodin, codeine, and methadone before, so he thought he knew what to expect with another opiate. About 3 hours later SWIM's stomach began feeling extremely heavy and not quite in pain, but as if there was a large mass stuck somewhere inside his abdominal region. After about 5 min the feeling subsided, and he decided not to worry about it anymore. But this morning, when he woke up his stomach was in extraordinary pain.

In the past, SWIM has felt severely intense pains in his stomach while on the toilet, though they felt more like spikes digging through his intestines, and this morning the pain felt more blunt rather than pointed but nonetheless incredibly painful. SWIM ran back and forth from his room to the bathroom several times before finally being able to sit down and boot up his computer.

I don't know if this has been an allergic reaction or a combination of eating bad food (as in greasy chicken wings and spaghetti) before taking the pill. Any ideas on what it could be or anyways on how to prevent this from happening again? The pain was so absurd that SWIM doubts he'll eat his other 15mg dose

SWIM would try it on an empty stomach. Some will probably say that make make nausea/pain worse but SWIM has had no problems what so ever with morphine on an empty stomach(or with just some GFJ and tums haha). SWIM has had problems taking pills after eating or with food in my stomach though.

Really 15mg is a small dose, your pain is strange maybe just a one time thing. SWIM doesn't think that SWIY could be allergic to the morphine itself if SWIY had taken other opiates before, but I may be wrong. Perhaps some filler in the pill would be a thought?

was it a pill or capsule?
possibly reaction to other ingredients tho these are usually inert like gelatine in caps ( ugh )
is it possible that if swiy uses opiates that swiy could have constipation? just a thought
and of course yes it could have been your choice of food before hand.
swim takes morphine but in a syrup form ( oramorph ) and has never experienced a problem regardless of food eaten etc. codeine tho does give swim belly ache and so does the constipation caused by opiate usage.

Long term use may lead to reduced sexual drive or impotence.

Yea, morphine is known to cause problems with constipation, so that may have well been the problem.

Last night SWIM crushed a 1/4 of a 15mg pill and put that up his nose and licked up another 1/4 of a pill and felt great. No stomach pains this morning or last night

Was SWIY taking opiates prior to the 15mg of morph? SWIM doubts that dosage would cause that much constipation, especially if there had been no opiate use for a few days before this.
Maybe SWIM's wrong, he guesses everyone's bodies are different.

No, SWIM had not done opiates in quite a while. He tried eating a whole pill yesterday, and it turned out fine, but he's that snorting it provides a nicer sensation

I was prescribed 3x200mg mst daily and nothing ached!

try plugging next time, its a more efficiant ROA than oral and hits faster and may solve your stomache pain problems...

Are we talking diamorpine here?otherwise how can any 1 feel 15mg.SWIM pins 400mg mst and that dont exactly waste them,i understand the tolerance efect but surely........
