Side effects - stomach pains after taking codeine?

After SWIM took roughly 150 - 190 mgs of codeine he about 2 hours later got a pain right in the middle of his stomach. when he presses down on the middle of his stomach the pain increases. It kind of feels like a sharp stabbing pain but only a bit like it. it got pretty bad. the worst lasted maybe around 5 minutes, than it slowly went away.

Today after SWIM took 60mgs of it, but this time only about 30 mins later. he got the same pains but it only hurt a bit. not enough pain to bother him. just he's wondering why he gets these short lasting pains.

BTW swim had done codeine before about maybe 5 times and did not get these pains.

Just curious, had any other swiy had these kind of pains after taking codeine? any knowledge on why it might be?

In what form was the codeine taken? Are the pains accompanied by nausea?

If it was taken in the form of cough syrup, it could be the effect of guaifenesin (often added as an expectorant). Guaifenesin is known to cause severe nausea and abdominal pains in larger amounts.

naw it was just codein, caffeine and whatever else is in it after you extract the acetam from the codeine 8mg pills

SWIM did a CWE yesterday of 32 Paramol (500mg Paracetamol, 7.something Dihydrocodeine)
SWIM didn't cool the mixture down before filtering so the result was a cloudy mixture, but with no obvious solids.

The disgusting bitter shit was downed anyway and it did its job, but a few hours later SWIM was very nauseous and vomited quite harshly afterwards. Vomited again 4 hours later too.

SWIM was worried he had fucked his liver up with a botched CWE, SWIM now has pains (24 hours later) in his stomach and still feels slightly sick. No other symptoms (pain in the liver area etc) have presented themselves.

SWIM's stomach also makes funny gassy noises so SWIM is hoping it is just his intestines/belly and not the liver.

Remember, it's not worth drinking a cloudy mixture! I will only touch the stuff now if it is as clear as fresh mineral water!

Hmmm.. Swim did the extraction exactly the way it tells you to. cooled it down and everything. the end result isn't actually suppost to be as clear as water is it? I mean there was a lot of thick guck left in the filter. kind of felt like doe. but the filtered stuff in the cup i drank was alittle misty. I figured it was the caffeine/codeine/cornstartch

besides i read that acetam poisoning ussually doesn't show symptoms for another atleast 10 hours

yeah, as long as it's not opaque like milk it's probably fine, I had a load of goop left over in my filter too
I feel fine now, who knows, maybe DHC isn't for me? o_O (I usually just do codeine)

lol SWIM feels for you smeg. thanks for my forgetfulness and clumsiness i now have a "kamuix should read the rules" ranking lol. and SWIM has used codeine since that time and hasn't gotten another stomach problem... strange

maybe swiy messed up swiy CWE and left too much APAP in.. that can cause pain... also when swim started to do codeine swim would get stomache cramps/pains an hour or so into the trip.. this went away after taking 3 or 4 times...

actually swim was thinking the same thing. i didn't think so at first because swim read that symptoms don't ussually occer until 12 hours later. But swim recently read an erowid report that was about someone that got poisoning a few hours after taking it

if so that's scary. swim better filter more carefully from now on just in case
