Anyone have advice on Suboxone?

I just started my first in office dosage of Suboxone today.

This may sound weird, but my situation is a bit different because I am utilizing Sub as "off lable" for severe Refractory depression and anxiety.

It's been hard for me to find any people that are using Sub for this specific purpose that are not recovering addiction sufferers.

Not that they wouldn't know a lot about Sub, it's just that obviosly my dosing is tricky because I have no past experience with any kind of opiate based drug.

I have a lot of questions, because using Sub for this purpose is something many people don't know about.

My first experience with it today was discouraging because I got so freaking high off it that it felt like a freight train hit me at mach 10.

Bless this doc for trying to help me, but I am his first non-opiate addict that he has tried to treat his way so were trying to work thru this together.

Please don't bash me for trying to utilize Suboxone for my condition, but it's a long story and in short, 2 decades of dozens of antidepressants and augmentation just isn't helping much anymore, which is why this doctor has agreed to help me with the sub option.

I'm in a very small percentage of depression sufferers that do not fully respond to even powerful MAOI and tri-cyclics, so Sub is kind of my last hope.

I sure could use an experienced person to help me with dosing and some of the strage side effects I got from my first sub trial today.

Let me know if I can share with you or if you can help me.

Thanks.

Re: Anyone have advice on Suboxone?

Hello Hensley, I wish you the best of luck with your treatment. If you don't mind me asking, what dosage are you starting out on ? From the sound of it, you got pretty high. Suboxone is VERY strong, stronger than even some doctors realize. I once seen a non tolerant person take 1mg. They felt like a million bucks for about 10 minutes after it kiked in, then they got extremely sick. For 3 days, that person puked and puked and was very swimmy headed. So I guess my advice is to make sure you are not taking too much. I'm no dr but I would think that a dose of .5 mg or less would be sufficient. I was on Suboxone for 2 years. I can certainly see where it might would help someone with your condition and wish you all the best.

Re: Anyone have advice on Suboxone?

Thanks for responding.

OMG! I took 1 MG and got so sick! I got WAY too high and it triggered panic attacks and a very heavy feeling.

I have never been that high in my life and it scared the crap out of me.
My goal with this Suboxone was to ease my refractory depression and anxiety and it had the opposite effect on me big time.

I have never taken an Opiate based drug in my life and now I feel like I have a really bad hang over. My head is all swimy, I feel woosy, I was vomiting about three hours after I took it yesterday.

This Suboxone was kind of a last ditch effort to help my almost un-treatable Severe depression and anxiety and now because I took too much I feel like I have gotten even worse.

I hate feeling high and that was not my goal. I was shooting for simple normalcy from my condition.

Obviously I screwed up big time.

No, you didn't screw up, your doctor did. I knew it sounded like you took too much.

Start with 1/4 and work your way up.
