Drug info - The Science of Psychedelics

Just a heads up for those of you who are not aware. Check out
http://www.maps.org/ . MAPS is The Multidisciplinary Association
for Psychedelic Studies. It is a research and educational
organization. They are fighting the fight for people like
us. If you have a few spare bucks, I'll bet a donation would help
the cause. EIther way, it does not hurt to look into what the
scientists are doing about it.



If knowledge was an ogranism, science would be it primary sense organ.

MAPS is an excellent organization with some
great individuals. </span>When you hear of psychedelic
or mdma research being conducted, odds are they are behind it.</span>


The projects that they are currently
involved in include:</span>


-- psilocybin and LSD in the treatment of
cluster headaches</span>


-- the usefulness of ibogaine in the
treatment of people with problem drug or alcohol use</span>


-- a plan to make MDMA into a prescription
medicine for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder</span>

i dont think mdma will be prescription.

i think it will be used in conjunction with therapy.

Wouldn't a drug being used in conjuncture with legal therapy, have to be prescribed?

it means that you can only get it from the shrink you are seeing and you'll never can get it at the drugstore ... so it's only to use in his presence during therpay... probabmly - they'll need a training school for psychs to get to know this substance - one hel of a school it would be ... happy class.

dude they tried that with mdma. mdma was a spoil of war from the germans, i think from ww1 correct me if im wrong

yeah it was in ww2 they were looking for bio weapons, and they studied
mdma in animals, first rats, cats, dogs,then monkey's. They realized
that it would make a shitty weapon because it would just make the enemy
feel mad good. but they realized that it stimulate the seritonin in the
brain, and found that it would be good in counciling and shit. they
used it for marriage counciling and shit to make people feel close to
one another. this all happend in the 50's and 40's. they then decided
wtf, and realized that it had to many bad side effects, so they said
fuck you x and made it illegal. it will never be a schedual 3 ever, so
stop trying. marijuana, could make it to 3 but it will take some
effort. so, dont hope for ex, ibogaine is a far stretch too.

regardless of whether these medicines become legal, MAPS is continuing
some very encouraging work in the feild of reasearch. that alone is of
great value for the future.
