St johns wort mixing

Hi all.
If swim has been taking St johns wort for roughly a month swim understands from the info gathered here that extacy/mdma is not worth trying, or is there another social drug swim could use?
Also swim cannot sleep and is waking up all through the night sweating, swim tried sleeping pills but they just caused bad stomach pain all night and day.
Does anyone have any knowledge of tamazipan? would that help ?
Thanks a lot in advance

Re: St johns wort mixing

Hello, welcome to the forum

St John's Wort exerts a weak SSRI effect which is the associated problem when combining it with MDMA/ecstacy, however if the supplementation o St John's Wort was stopped for a week or two prior to the use of MDMA, it would still work. Of course SWIY would have to make the choice, if he thinks that stopping the SJW would cause problems (associated depression) etc then it probably isnt worth it.

There are many social drugs SWIY could use, most of which are covered here on the forum but it really depends on the setting of SWIY's use as to which would be most enjoyed and of course SWIY's preference. For example some people love cocaine at parties others prefer it when in bars and others dont like it at all. Most people would tell you that for a relatively naive drug user MDMA is definately worth a try above the others.

If SWIY is waking up through the night sweating there is probably a medical reason for it especially if it's happening on a regular basis, the best advice here would be to consult a doctor. SWIF had some problems maintaining a cool temperature at night and would wake up soaked in sweat having hallucinations because he had become too hot but soon as he realised this was the problem he was able to solve it. Sleeping pills definately arn't the answer here as they'll merely be covering up another issue that probably needs some attention.

The stomach pains you describe shouldnt come from the sleeping pills (whatever kind of pill they are) if SWIY is taking them in normal dosages, which further suggests SWIY should try to see a doctor to find out why he is getting stomach aches, it could be related to the lack of sleep and sweating...

By Tamazipan im assuming you are referring to the benzodiazepine Temazepam also known as Restoril, which aids sleep and anxiolytic(anti-anxeity) properties. While this as a drug can be useful in the short term for sleep or following heavy stimulant use it isn't worth using as a regular basis as addiction and dependance often result which causes all sorts of horrible negative effects including death! If your looking for more information on Temazepam it might be worth having a look in the downers forum under benzodiazepines.

Hope this helped, feel free to ask anything further if you need to.

Re: St johns wort mixing

Hi thanks for the help.
Dr put it all down to depression and gave swim diazepam but only 2mg and 14 pills. (max 4 a day) swim took two felt nothing so its pretty pointless, as of today swim stopped SJW until the diazepam runs out like Dr ordered.
As swim only just stopped the SJW i suppose there is no point taking MDMA straight away.
valium/drink as long as not over done is ok?
thanks again

Re: St johns wort mixing

No problem.

diazepam 4mg while helping with sleep and anxeity is unlikely to give SWIY an actual feeling or euphoric effect, much more would need to be taken and even then in SWIF's honest oppinion he doesnt find benzodiazepines that recreational anyway.

Alcohol and diazepam has been already discussed in detail on many parts of the forum, its probably worth doing a search as they say what i can already in alot more detail and it would save me rewriting things people have said.
