Drug info - Speckled

The brown specks in ecstasy pills; rumoured to be heroin . Probably definitely not true but it remains a mystery, to me. What are these speckles, where do they come from, and how are they so nefariously placed in my friends weekend tablets?




No-one post links to other topics covering the exact same grounds. It demeans me.

Usually its somthing like food colouring powder mixed in with the ingredients before the pill has been pressed, so when the pill is pressed it has speckles in it. And i doubt anyone making pills would put heroin into them as heroins expensive!

They really could be anything, from food colouring to PMA (http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=284174#post284174) to smack (has been reported in the dim & distant past) to ketamine to MDMA to hardened ground up monkey poo. The only people who would really know what the speckles are would be a) the maker of the pill, & b) an analytical chemist. All else is pure conjecture I'm afraid. Kittlings, plese don't make this into a pill ID thread - first hint will get it closed.

The brown speckles you see in a pill are usually where the food colouring (which is used to dye pills as the mixture is a brown colour before pressing - which my friend Monkey says apparently) has not gone all the way through. Leaving small brown speckles of where dye hasn't reached.

My friend Monkey tells me that this is correct. Heroin costs a fortune, and would be a waste as such a minor amount in something that is taken orally. It would have no-effect taken orally at such a small dose. So if anyone ever tells you that 'these pills have heroin in them' or something along those lines then they are generally bullshitting in order to make you think they are really good or something. (Or they've fallen for the lie aswell.)*


*Monkey says that he thinks there has only been maybe 1 pill thats been recorded as testing positive for heroin. And that some tests will show certain fillers and other additives up as heroin when they aren't. So don't be alarmed!

And also the food colouring thing which I mentioned Monkey had told me about above is the most likely answer to the speckles. There was a time when Monkey though the ones with dirty speckles were better. Aha

When big buyers buy there pills from the people who make them... They could request that they put something else in other then MDMA., or a mix of MDMA and...?

A sensible pill maker wouldn't do anything stupid !!!!! And or dangerous !!!
But someone has to keep in mined that competition is fierce...

And that pill makers comes in different categories, meaning: that the high end (top people) could be making two million tablets (or even more) a week. Those people want to deliver quality !! If the don't and people die because of there dodgy pills it might be traced back to them, and gives XTC a bad name they don't want that !!!

And you got people who do things small scale like 1000 pills a week, and don't give a fuck !! They will be the ones who make fake pills (only making it out of a binder) Or worse putting anything in it, swim heard story's of rat poison and all sorts... Its scary !

Please have a look at this tread it gives an idea how quality is affected, and that if one pill is good and the other isn't as good even if they look identical why that might be...

This would not happen in a proper laboratory GC/MS test, any tests used that are not accurate or specific should be taken with a pinch of salt.

A GM/MS test identified a (poorly pressed) pill in 2003 or 2004 (can't remember) as containing mostly Aspirin, but also small amount of Heroin and Fluoxetine (which is an SSRI better known as Prozac). This may have been what sparked the rumour about the brown speckles meaning the pill contains Heroin.
