painful feeling in left thigh bone on diph.

My friend has done high doses of diphenhydramine a few times in the past few years. He's done anywhere from 250-600mg at once. Every time he does it, he gets this strange feeling in his left leg. It's in the same spot every time. He can even feel it a little bit when he takes 75mg to fall asleep (he uses 75mg about 2-3 times per week because of insomnia). It kinda feels like his left thigh bone is tightening or twisting from the inside, and the only way to relieve it is by moving his leg. That works for a few seconds, but it comes back very quickly. It's almost painful, but mostly very annoying.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? My friend would greatly appreciate if anyone could help him get rid of this feeling. He hasn't done a large dose of diph. in almost a year and wants to try it again.
