Bupropion as it is intended...

swim is coming up on 6-7 weeks of a 300mg XL once a day regimen

and they have noticed a huge difference in cognition (almost in it's entirety)

self talk is less negative and more positive and depressive episodes are slowly fading away (last one [probably due to initial reaction] was pretty severe and swim ended up having to convince LEO he wanted to live)

swim feels like a different person, which they though would be impossible due to the helplessness/hopelessness which major depressive disorder breeds. swim was at the point of complete misanthropy and social isolation and now thanks to bupropion and a script for clonazepam their life has certainly taken a turn in a much better direction

Re: Bupropion as it is intended...

SWIM found bupropion to be extremely effective for him too. He took 300mg daily for about a year and a half and it turned his life around. He is no longer controlled by frequent depressing feelings.
Now, a couple years later he just began it again to help with his nicotine addiction.
I'm glad to see SWIy is having a good reaction!

Re: Bupropion as it is intended...

SWIM got excessively, but hidden from himself, emotional. Sounds like typical depression relief.

My opinion, summated with the few psychiatrists i've talked to, is mixed.

I am sooo glad for you guys though! If it works, it works; glad you found some help.
