Vein problem

Swim had several hits of crack last week. One vein has brusied badly and the bruise seems to be moving up the vein. It has been 4 days since the hit. The vein feels hard and the arm is sore to the touch and when moved.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Re: Vein problem

swim doesn`t know what the problem is but thinks that if swiys arm is still sore in the morning then a visit to the doctor would probably be wise

Re: Vein problem

That sounds like a problem a doctor ought to be contacted for.

If isolampg were able to tell us exactly what SWIY did then we would be able to offer better advice. (steps involved in the shooting process)

Re: Vein problem

It definitely sounds like a problem only a qualified health professional can review; from the description is sounds like a possible abscess caused by blowing the vein during injection and spreading the solution upwards, the solution was of course un-sterile.

Since 4 days have passed and there is strong pain, seeing a doctor could be very important since such a potential infection might very dangerous if left untreated, best place to go is an ER far from where SWIY lives if SWIY is concerned about privacy.

Otherwise it could have been caused by bad injection technique, causing a blown vein is known to give large bruises that can be very painful if they are close to a nerve for example.

If the situation gets any worse going to a doctor is vital.

Re: Vein problem

Swim was very intoxicated at the time of the shot. And may well have blown the vein. The works were clean however. Swim will call a dr today and get the arm looked at.
thankyou

isolampg added 24 Minutes and 37 Seconds later...

Swim has spoken to a nurse who believes it is not infected and will heal with time. If any other problems happen SWIM is to contact them again.
Thankyou!

Re: Vein problem

Did the nurse actually saw the arm? Other means of communication that do not involve visual and physical access for the health professional to the affected areas can easily lead to a misdiagnosis.

If SWIY did saw the nurse in person ignore the above; just keep an eye over the area for changes and if it gets worse go to a doctor immediately; other than that you could ask about certain creams and gels that help reduce the size of a bruise really fast like Hirudoid.

People dissolve it with some weak acid, water, cook it and slam it, a weird and dangerous thing in SWIM opinion; after all smoking crack gives a “flash” like slamming, although much shorter and maybe less intense.

However SWIM has read that crack is much more pure than powder in many places, so it makes sense to buy 80% pure crack and prepare it for injection, than buying 30% pure powder that is probably even more dangerous to slam because of the cuts.
